Hi Everybody
S eptember is now finished and we ap-
proach October with the weather be-
ing unseasonably cooler for the most
part As October progresses it is the
time to look to winterizing your ride before
putting it away for the winter As it gets
colder remember to ride with the proper ap-
parel as you can lose body temperature
quickly
September saw some great rides with some
traveling to Wing Ding in Knoxville TN and
many members enjoying the 3 Flags ride to
Mexico Special thanks have to go out to
Brain Hooker and Bob Van Nes and the many
volunteers that made the 3 Flags finish so
first class Well Done everyone
Our Sunday planned rides that were sched-
uled were delayed and then cancelled due to
the unseasonably cold weather Your Chap-
ter Ride Coordinator is looking for new ways
to keep next yearrsquos rides schedule communi-
cated ahead of time so everyone can organ-
ize their personal schedule and participate in
more rides More to follow on this in next
monthrsquos report
At our last meeting we mentioned the
planned District Rally to be held next year on
August 16 ndash 18th

Due to popular demand your Chapter Executive are planning on having a Fall Bunco
Night What a great way of bringing close to another fantastic year of riding donrsquot delay

donrsquot know what Bunco is all about here is a Readerrsquos Digest version of the game The
game began in 18th century England as a gamed called Eight-Dice Cloth is enjoying a
surge of popularity According to the World Bunco Association this new interest stems
from a ldquoa return to traditional family values a sense of neighborhood and community
and the desire and need for social interactionrdquo Bunco is played with 4 players per table
each player has three dice players rotate from table to table a winner will be determined
at the completion of the tournament Enough about the rules suffice it to say the rules

Good day Everyone
With the cooler temperatures and some
white stuff coming down it looks like our
riding season is coming to an end Itrsquos time
to trade in our riding jacket and gloves for
the traditional ski jacket and insulated
gloves reminisce with friends about the
great rides we had beautiful country we
saw and the meeting of new and old
friends that we hadnrsquot seen since the last
Wing Ding etc
Before putting the cover on your bike it
might be a good time to do your fall mainte-
nance Howrsquos your tires Getting down
When was the last time that you checked
your brakes air filter etc Doing these
maintenance things now means when the
weather breaks in the spring yoursquore ready to
go
If you can do the maintenance yourself
thatrsquos great Most of the motorcycle shops
will be happy to pick up your ride and do
the maintenance over the winter months
many motorcycle shops will lower their pric-
es as that is their low season and they are
looking for work
With riding out for a few months now is a
good time to catch up on classroom train-
ing There are many seminars that can be
presented at the end of a chapter meeting
or even at the weekly coffee gathering
Many can be presented for as little as 10 ndash
15 minutes When was the last time you
took a First Aid Course amp CPR By taking a
medical course you are helping to protect
your friends and family members Would
you know what to do in the event of a medi-
cal emergency Maybe at home watching
TV walking at the mall or out for a family
drive in the country
Talk to the other members in your chapter
and ask the Chapter Director to arrange for
an instructor A lot of chapters have MFA
Instructors as members
By taking the courses that are offered by
GWRRA you are not only helping yourself to
stay healthy but you are helping the Instruc-
tors keep their teaching certificates
What is that all about you ask The Instruc-
tors take time out of their personal lives to
get certified and then they must teach a
specified number of Courses in order to
keep their teaching certificates If these
numbers are not met then these instructors
will lose their certificates Letrsquos help our-
selves as well as our instructors
Have a great winter season we will see you
in the spring

ues etc The NW District is planning a rally for July 25 to 28 2019 at 100 Mile
House They are planning to do their rally on a bi-annual basis as ours will likely be
too
Stu was in Moose Jaw this summer and noted the tunnel tours are well worth it
