This project comprises the construction of a new External Utilities Building (EUB) to house the installation of a new UKPN 132kV substation and 11kV generator and mains distribution system to provide Thomson Reuters with additional system capacity at their existing DTC facility in Poplar, London
The first phase of the project consists of the construction of the new concrete frame to its full height of 27m, the installation of cladding to the ground floor and acoustic louvres to a height of approximately 20m.
Phases 2 and 3 of the project include; the installation of the steel frame up to the full height, completion of the external façade, installation of the remaining generator sets and chillers and the completion of the external hard and soft landscaping.

The project comprises the delivery of an Uptime Tier 3 co-location data centre facility within the iconic former Reuters building in central London, formerly operated by BT. This is the largest central London data centre project to be delivered in London in 2012/13. The building is located on an island site in a densely populated mixed-use geographic location.
Phase 1 consists of the full demolition and strip-out of the existing construction and building services elements back to shell and core, construction of new internal and external structural and building elements and installation of new building services to support the fit-out of the fourth floor data hall, comprising 10,000 sqft of technical space.
Due to the age and nature of the existing building substantial structural alterations and construction works will be undertaken to enable the installation of new plant and equipment at; roof, ground floor and basement levels.
The client has aspirations for the data centre facility to achieve a high operational efficiency rating. However, the constraints of the city centre site have limited some of the technologies available for operation of the facility, which has limited the maximum efficiency achievable, therefore, the data centre equipment has been designed and installed to provide a Category 3 annual average PUE of 1.5 or less.
