A large 3 ring circus tent is seen, a crowd gathers outside.

Panel 1
A heated debate is raging between the members of the traveling circus. The debate is
mainly between a clown and the ringmaster.
Angry Clown (Medium Shot)- Look, we need to pull out right NOW! The radio said that
thingis heading this way.
Panel 2
Ringmaster (Medium Shot)- I say we stay and we see how it shakes out.
Panel 3Angry Clown (Close Up)- Shakes out? Shakes out? Theres a giant killer robot heading
this way and you wanna see how it SHAKES OUT? ARE YOU INSANE?
Panel 4
Ringmaster (Close Up)- What else can we do? We would never get packed up in time.
You wanna just abandon the circus?
Panel 5
(Wide Shot) A voice comes from off panel, the two men turn their heads towards itssource.
Elena- Dere is other way.
Panel 6
An old woman is sitting down in a chair in the shade rocking and smoking a pipe. She isthe circus gypsy fortune teller. She only stares ahead as she speaks, not even looking at
the men. The angle is pointing down towards her.
Elena- Atlas can stop it.

Angry Clown - ATLAS?
Panel 2
Medium shot. The clown is leaning down, pointing a finger in the old womans face,
while the ring master is standing beside her over her right shoulder. She still hasnt
looked up.
Angry Clown- What can that old man do? He cant even help pitch a tent anymore, hes
useless!
Panel 3
Extreme Close Up on Elena who has snatched the clowns pointed finger and stares up athim with a frightening intensity.
Elena- He is NOT useless.
Panel 5
Extreme Close Up of Clown. Sweat drips down his forehead and youre not sure if he is
frightened or in pain as Elena clutches his hand. He remains silent.
Panel 4
Medium Shot on Elena looking around, releases the clowns hand.
Elena- Where is Atlas? Someone bring him to me!
Panel 5
Wide Shot of the crowd forming a semi circle around Elena who is in the center. A voice
comes from behind them off panel from the left.
Atlas- Im here.
Panel 6Wide shot of the crowd parting to show an old, tired looking man in loose fitting attire of
a strong man. His voice is weak, sad and defeated which is to be shown in the shape of
the word balloon and the lettering.

Atlas is startled to see Elena visibly fatigued
Atlas- Elena!
Panel 2Atlas has rushed over and caught Elena as she falls to the floor.
Elena- I am fine, I am fine

Elena looks up at him in contemplation
Panel 4Elena unwraps the shawl about her head by just pulling down with her right hand. This
shot is profile.
Elena- Here, you must have a proper cape..
Panel 5Andrei takes a knee in front of Elena so that she can tie her shawl about his shoulders.
After she ties the shawl off on his tunic
Elena- You must look the part
Panel 6Her hand, palm up lingers under his chin for a moment,
Panel 7Elena gazes at him teary eyed, she knows that this is the last time she will see Andrei, and
so she is saying her goodbye to him. She doesnt want to keep him from saving the day,
so she keeps it to herself.

Same shot as Panel 6 only the hand cups the left (Andreis Left) cheek as he gazes down
at her, almost, almostteary eyed.

Extreme Wide Shot of a city street with various people and military equipment circa the
1930s is set up, its a thin panel and it runs across the page. Equipment and men aresilhouetted close to the lens. Two soldiers are standing next to an Adam Strange like
character.
Panel 2Wide Shot of the three men.
Private- So you really think you can take this thing down Professor?
Sergeant- Of course he can, hes the worlds greatest scientific adventurer.Professor- Indeed I can Private. With my trusty Ray Blaster and Rocket Pack (both
patents pending), I will bring down this mechanical menace and save our fair city.
Panel 3
Atlas comes flying in skipping towards then in an effort to stop from the right side of the
panel across.
Panel 4
Comes to a rest in front of the men, similar to panel 2, though Atlas is now in the midst ofthem, sweating, leaning down his back to the viewer.
Sergeant- A flying man? What the Hell are you supposed to be?
Panel 5
Atlas stands up defiantly like in a stage show.
Atlas- I am Atlas! I am here to save day!
Panel 6Sarge on the left, Professor on the right and the private in the middle who is looking
concerned towards the older soldier.
Sergeant- Great, a flying Pollack, well youre too late, the Professor here is getting set to
blast off and zap that machine to pieces.
Panel 7
Professor- That is indeed correct, I am nearly ready to fight this mechanized maniac.
Though if you would like to be of some service, you can stay and help with the clean up.
Just try and stay out of my way for the next few minutes.

dramatic fashion with everyone else in the background close behind over his right
shoulder.
Private- Here it comes!

An extremely wide shot that takes up the rest of the page. The robot is massive, it towers
over the buildings which are all about six stories tall. The very bottom of the panel show
the silhouettes of the 4 men on the street.

Professor- Thats my cue. Wish me luck boys!
Panel 2
Sergeant- Godspeed Professor.
Panels 2, 3, 4 and 5 are all the same framing, the only one who changes in it is the
Professor and the eyes of the other three men in the frame. In two hes blasting off and
you only see his legs and the jet pack exhaust. Panel 3 you hear a hit of some kind and
everyone winces a little as their necks are craned. Panel 4, the Professor has fallen backdown to the ground smoking and everyone is looking down at the body. Panel 5, the
private turns his head to Atlas.

the boys shoulder. The little boy is still there holding onto him.

Random noises are heard in the distance.

Panel 1
Extreme close up on atlas. His head is tilted down and his brows are furrowed. Hes ready
and hes pissed, this is it. This man has had enough, he has to live up to Elena.
Note: If youve seen The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly youll recognize the shots Imabout to describe. This is straight spaghetti western stand off thats about to happen. I
almost want to have a note right here to but on a particular song to accompany the reader
with whats about to go down.
Panel 3
The camera is placed directly on the ground. In the left third of the panel you see Atlas
foot and up to about his calf. In the right third of the panel you see the robot in forcedperspective, essentially making it appear as if the robot is smaller than it really is. This
serves to show atlas finally viewing this thing not as a large unconquerable foe, but as
something he can meet on more than just an equal level.
Panel 4
Mirror image of the above. Only now atlas is appears as the same size as the robot had inthe previous panel.
Panel 5
Close up of atlas left fist clenched held back from his body so that it almost ends up inthe right third of the panel. You see the curve of his back and down to maybe mid thigh.
There is an audible crack sound effect drawn in.

Mirror of above only the robots pincer snaps audibly shut.

EXTREME Close up of Atlas left eye looking side ways at the robot, his head tilted

completion, that hed almost have a Mr Spock brow going on.

Wide shot the width of the page, of Atlas as he leans forward and roars. I see it very JackKirby like. Hes so far over that youre almost looking at the tops of his shoulders, his
hands like claws. The look on his face is INTENSE, like every muscle is being used tofacilitate the roar.
Panel 2
Wide shot of the robot about waist up, who faces the left side of the panel. Its lurchingback due to atlas who has shot over to it like a bullet. Atlas has a grip on its left arm and
is literally beginning to tear it off with the momentum he generated.
Panel 3
Close up of struts and welds in the robots arm breaking.
Panel 4
Wide shot, panel the width of the page. Robot is in the left side falling towards that edge
of the panel, trailing bolts and debris from its arm which has been ripped off. On the rightside is atlas, who is moving to his respective side of the page due to the momentum of
having broken the arm free.
Panel 5Wide shot of Atlas floating in air, with the arm in both hands like a baseball bat, like he
was gonna swing it left handed. The hand is positioned kind of like C-3POs arm in a new
hope when it gets knocked off by the sand people and Luke is carrying it; arm kind ofbent, hand dangling at the wrist.
Panel 6Shoulder up shot of the robot with its head lurching forward, loose jaw dangling from
having just been hit in the back of the head with its own detached arm. The motion lines
show the path, the impact, and then up to where hand and fore arm are found by the
viewer in the right corner of the panel.

Close up on the robots neck as it bends over parallel with the ground. Atlas lands on itsneck which is an accordion like connector like robby the robots arms (this shot in turn
becomes a wide shot of atlas who is rather small compared to the size of this thing)
Panel 2
Wide shot of atlas who is trying to separate the head by pushing down with his legs, and
pushing up with his arms. He is faced towards the camera. The left side of the panel is thetop of the robots head angling down to where atlas left hand is and you are essentially
looking down atlas body.
Panel 3
Close up of atlas head as its down in this intense concentration of effort and strength.
Sweat is pouring out, veins are popping and his teeth are visible and clenched just abovethe line of his shoulders.
Panel 4Close up of the accordion material ripping, and pop sounds are heard. This panel is tiny
and thin.
Panel 5Close up of atlas face now, almost looking up from below him now as he leans his head
back and you can see the all of the details of his immense neck muscles straining. He is
heard groaning.

Close up of a wider rip, the panel growing in size relative to more damage having beendone.

Panel 1
Really wide shot, takes up about the top half of the page. The robots head flys towards
the left side of the panel, and atlas hovers in the air as if he had just leapt forward due tothe sudden lack of resistance from the head having broken loose. You see the robot from
about chest up.
Panel 2Atlas lands on his knees and hands, visibly exhausted and sweat dripping off of his chin.
The robots body clangs to the ground behind him taking up most of the background.
Panel 3
Camera is low on the ground with atlas as the two soldiers are there to help him up.
Panel 4
They prop him up his arms around there shoulders, each man on either side of him. they
strain to keep him up due to how heavy he is. Atlas head hangs down, kind of like aboxer at the end of an intense bout. The sergeant holds his chin and turns his head
towards him.
Sergeant- KID! Kid you alright?

remembered something.

Wide shot of the street camera looking up at atlas as he shoots straight up into the sky.
The soldiers lean back like men in a storm, bracing them selves against a strong wind.Theyre caps have blown off my the rush of air atlas created when he lifted off.
Panel 3Wide shot of a gypsy caravan. There are a great many people gathered outside of it.
Panel 4Edge of the caravan is on the right side of the page, atlas lands about the middle third, his
motion line of his decent comes across from the top of the left third. He lands in the
middle of the crowd. Hes already talking as he lands.
Atlas- Elena, where is Elena?
Panel 5Close ups on s few faces, shoulders up. The faces are sad, the angry clown is one of them.
The door of the caravan is shut behind them over their shoulders.
Panel 6
Medium shot of atlas, shoulders up, he is beginning to look concerned as he pushes his
way through them to the door.

Wide shot, profile of atlas on the platform at the back of the caravan. The door is openedto the camera and dust is pouring out from the inside.

Wide shot through the caravan. At the very back along the wall the dust is seen to be
emanating from a bunk.

Medium shot of atlas, waist up, camera looking up at him. There is a look of horror on
his face, his right hand extended out in front of him like he is reaching for something. Helooks on the verge of tears. He looks across the panel and the camera is at a 45 degree
angle to him.
Panel 4
Close up of the bunk, a little dust still blows out of a pile of clothes which atlas (and the
viewer) recognize to be the clothes that Elena was wearing at the beginning of the story.
Panel 5
Close up of Atlas still looking up. He understands now, the tears are beginning to run
down his cheek, same angle as panel 3.
Panel 6
Wide shot, sort of profile, more prone. The edge of the bunk is basically the bottom edgeof the panel. Atlas is on the left third. He clutches the clothes and is sobbing now, tears
are dripping. He realizes she is gone.

The entire page is a wide shot of atlas on his knees in front of the bunk from behind
sobbing while clutching the shawl Elena had given him for a cape. It comes around hisright side and under his right arm. His head is down and you barely see the top of the
right hand clutching the cape against his cheek.
