Treasure: 3 maps -- uncharted isle, old Drunstimlos, unknown land-based treasure: The third map is most curious: It shows a forest, a stream, a tower, and a large house on a hill and/or surrounded by a moat. Kamar wonders about the double doors on the building, as well as hills with an possible cave entrance that remind him of pyramids, ancient tombs far to the southwest.

There is a stylized wolf's head on the right side, and an ornate, upside-down trident on the left, which Nuriel suspects is a compass indicating the bottom of the map as north. Kamar wonders if the maps are guides to hidden pirate treasure.

"former co-workers"-Nuriel (Brian's Grey Elf Cleric): collection of light-refracting

-Itharides (“melFIRiath”), who adopted mortal man’s causes as her own, and chooses to live and fight among them.

-Nlossae (“nuroHIM”), whose beloved was killed in battle, and who becalms his grief by acting as a servant of his elven kin.

-Reluvether (“draugMIL”), who is a beast-friend, and who exacts justice from those who cut or burn their forests.

-Cassy (Sara's Otter-kin Rogue): -Kaelen (Bruce's half-Sylvan Elf Ranger): doesn't know his father;

Session: D&D5e "Vanished Lands" F2F nautical crew, 41.24 -- Threading the needle

Real-time: Monday, 7 March 2015, at Drew & Divya S.'s apartment in Needham, Mass.

Game dates: "7 to 12 December 1227 B.C.E."Locations: on the eastern Sea of Nagendwa, from Nanmin to Kou

Chiang, Hanfira Island, and Lirgad and back to Nanmin and Shihwan, past Gisar

Summary: The "Storm Riders" rename their cutter as the Interceptor and prepare to stop at the Shengtese village of Kou Chiang for supplies. However, they spot four ships from the dreaded Ghost Fleet and head out to sea.

Crew member Funamori Haruko, a Sea Spirit Folk Druid, directs the wanderers to an eastern Sea Elven hamlet on Hanfira Island. An away team finds the huts on bamboo stilts abandoned and a huge gravel pit inland.

Barret is horrified to realize that the pit is a giant footprint, and his companions find evidence that the locals were tied up and sacrificed by crushing. At Capt. Kaelen's orders, the Interceptor heads toward the city of Lirgad and sees an Undead pirate fleet sailing west.

The would-be heroes race to warn Nanmin and Shihwan, but some locals are skeptical. Nuriel has a disturbing dream of a banquet of marine humanoids, and the Interceptor evades a white ship crewed with pale women wielding ice harpoons.

The explorers sail past barbaric Gisar and plan to warn the human kingdom of Hifalendor of the approaching Ghost Fleet....

Locations: Kildart (see Session 41.17), Ostport (15, 16), Bancea (14, 15), Gargoyle Headlands (13, 14) http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb42/GeneD5/Vanished%20Lands/VLHflr1.jpg

Summary: The cutter Interceptor races westward, ahead of a ghost fleet out of Lirgad. On the way, the nautical scouts warn Gusorin and Hifalendorin coastal villages of the threat.

At Kildart, an away team meets "Asish," who tells them that the city of Lenfar has fallen to the Gokuri Empire, which is ruled by the cruel Nannuattan (eastern Dark Elves). The group also warns local head man Yuri.

At Ostport, Kaelen, Barret, and Asish talk with Tinker Gnome "Regis..." as Kamar, Nuriel, and Sebastian report to Sister Clarissa at the local temple of the Sea Lords. Kaelen acquires a prototype flamethrower.

At Bancea, Kaelen is reunited with Mekkeli, keeper of the strange lighthouse/windmill overlooking the town. Following Regis' instructions, Barret manages to briefly reanimate the tower, which turns into a huge automaton and smashes a few homes.

The rest of the adventuring party informs local lord Tergan Nentor about the approaching Undead pirates, and he agrees to get Regis... to return to fix the construct.

On the way to the Gargoyle Headlands, Kamar and Asish join Nuriel and Barret in having strange dreams. In their visions, they are tempted by power and see themselves fighting erstwhile friends [see Kamar's song to the tune of Genesis' "Land of Confusion"]. Sometime later, Capt. Kaelen spots with a spyglass clouds on the horizon from the approaching Ghost Fleet.

The "Storm Riders" arrive at the Hifalendorin naval base, which has decor and soldiers reflecting a Khemtish (New Kingdom Egyptian) influence. Kamar reports to old friend Commodore Arthur J. Hudson. Nuriel describes the visions to shaman Hai-Yuan Peihsi and sends a mystical message to his father asking for Grey Elven aid.

Asish enlists in the Hifalendorin Ranger Corps, and Kaelen gives thanks at the shrine of Ano Wasu. Sebastian learns more about the tome he bears, while Barret asks Senmet bet Nirath, a priestess of Isis, about how to find fellow Eldritch Knights.

Capt. Kaelen accepts a letter of marque as a privateer affiliated with Hifalendor and agrees to consider possible missions. Kamar suggests going southwest to the Suthern port of Falit, while Sebastian is interested in visiting the Thalassaquendi (western Sea Elves).

In addition to payment for scouting the Shengtese port, Kamar asks old friend Commodore Arthur J. Hudson for help repairing his rapier.

The cutter Interceptor continues on to Hesolin, capital of the human kingdom of Hifalendor. Capt. Kaelen reports to Lord Gideon Adams, who supports the privateers' mission to seek reinforcements from allies to the southwest on the Sea of Nagendwa.
