History 1850 - The Austriac Maritime Society on Danube – DDSG, founded The

Shipyard Drobeta Turnu Severin.

1977 - The Forging Enterprise was founded at the eastern limit of the Shipyard.

1988 - The Hall of Secondary Heat Treatment and Hall of Machining were putted in function.

1991 - FORSEV S.A. became an independent company

1998 - SC FORSEV SA, was privatized and became an American Romanian joint venture.

near the Danube river, in Drobeta Turnu Severin

and it is divided in:

Forging plant (14,971.87 sqm.)

Machining plant (5,426.74 sqm.)

Machining Dep.

In the Machining Department there are an

important number of large capacity machines

arranged by product line. Forsev’s machining

capacity is up to 60 to/month.

This manufacturing unit provides machining for a

wide range of parts in all shapes and sizes, both for

external and internal needs.

Quality Certification:

FORSEV has a Quality Management System implemented and certified according to ISO 9001 Standards by the international certification body GERMANISCHER LLOYD.

FORSEV has products certification with DEUTSCHE BAHN and the manufacturing approvals with LLOYD`s REGISTER, BUREAU VERITAS, DET NORSKE VERITAS, AMERICAN BUREAU OF SHIPPING and with GERMANISCHER LLOYD.

FORSEV has PED 97 cerification.

All these approvals and certifications were requested by the FORSEV’s customers and obtained in appropriate time.

Inspections:

● Beginning with the incoming inspection of the raw material up to manufacturing and dispatching of the finished products, exigent testing methods are applied according to FORSEVs Quality Book.

● As a guarantee of the quality of its products, FORSEV performs a large range of testing in its laboratories: destructive testing (chemical analysis, mechanical testing, metalographical analysis ), non-destructive testing (hardness testing, ultrasonic testing, magnaflux control, penetrating liquids).

● Delivered products are guaranteed by quality certificates issued by Forsev or by other certification bodies type 3.1 or 3.2/EN10204.

Laboratory’s equipments:

Mechanical testing: - Universal testing machines (tensile, compression, bending at ambient temperature (20°C)). - Charpy Hammer – impact test (at low and ambient temperatures) - Hardness- Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell

Metallographic: - Metallographic microscopes with zooming from 100x up to 1000x - Equipments for preparation, treating and chemical attack of metallographic samples

Chemical analysis: - Device for establish C + S - Spectrophotometer for establishing Cr, Ni, Mo - Analytic and electronic balance

Non-destructive control (UT, MT, PL): - Ultrasonic defectoscopes and all necessary accessories - magnetically yokes and UV lamps for magnetical powders control. • Dimensional checking: Callipers, patterns.
