Strength and Conditioning Tests for BJJ
Test your fitness for BJJ with this complete set of field tests put together byAsaf Sitbon (M. Sc.) and under the direction of the UKBJJA Strength andConditioning Team. This is free for anyone to use to test their fitness andimprove their Strength and Conditioning regime. Follow the link to thedocument at the bottom of this page or click here.
The field test battery is especially tailored for fighters.All tests are reliableand valid. Attached to each test you will find a normative data table whichsummarises a large amount of normative data put together by our experts.
The tests should be performed in the order in which they appear and should
be repeated every 3 months in order to observe self-improvement andimprovement in relation to the norms.

We will also be inviting some of the top fighters in each belt and agecategory to work with our Strength and Conditioning Department on a one-on-one basis to conduct field research on the best preparation for BJJ fighters.

The United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA- www.ukbjja.org) is the governing body for the sport and martial art ofBrazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in the UK. It is a not-for profit organisation which aimsto provide a governance structure for BJJ, that promotes and develops thesport while allowing individual clubs and practitioners the space and freedomto practice the sport in the way they enjoy. The UKBJJA is currently in thefinal stages of assessment for full Sport England accreditation.
The UKBJJA was formed in 2013, and the association’s goal is to foster thedevelopment of BJJ at elite, community and grassroots levels, raising theprofile of the sport but also providing pathways for development andinvolvement across communities in the UK.
