• Formed in April 2002 the Tire Rack Street Survival safe teen driving program was launched

• This foundation has 5 sponsors.; BMW of North America, BMW Car Club of America, Tire Rack, Sports Car Club of America , and Michelin.

• 2003 was the pilot year for Street Survival and several schools around the country held a Street Survival event.

• Our mission is to save lives while driving on the streets.

After the Event

• We expect them to be more observant in traffic situations

• Learn how to look far enough to anticipate unwise driving by others

• Know about handling limits and how to control it.

• Our program has been tested and these techniques work while driving in a safe of unsafe situation.

• Have different scenarios to help the driver improve their skills and what to do when hydroplaning

• We give out flyers and tell radio stations to announce that we will being the area to assist anyone that needs help with street survival

• Assisting anyone that need a refresher with driving a difficult situation.

• We focus on teens from the age of 16-19.

• Even though we focus on the 16-19 are group we accept anyone that wants help.

• Helps parents trust there children to drive on there own.

• We go to city all over the country to help students improve their driving abilities

• We have different ways of learning these techniques. If you prefer being in a classroom we can accommodate you, but most of the time the students are hands-on and prefer being on the road and learning while it is happening

• Assisting anyone that need a refresher with driving a difficult situation

• Our program give students a chance to experience a near death experience and lets them know what to do in that type of scenario

Outcomes

•During the program it will improve overall. They will be able to think ahead, minimize undesirable outcomes, and to be confident while on the road and not endangering anyone else.

•Other things that it will refine is being humble, being a better skilled thinker, believing in ourselves, to correct any mistakes we can detect, lastly to monitor our own thinking process.

• Last year, over 5,000 teenagers died in motor vehicle crashes, the leading killer of American youths aged 16 to 19, accounting for more than 40 percent of fatalities in that age bracket.

• With those stats this foundation is needed in our community

•Most crashes happen at street lights when car has to yield to on coming traffic.

• The idea that it is people who change the world for the better

• They provide funding to dynamic leaders that are in the forefront of social change

• Our organization changes the country soon it will be taken worldwide to make driving better for the world.

• We created this organization to make a change on the streets to have the a better for the community

My connection with this foundation is that it assist people with driving skills and makes them think of what to do every time. For me I think about everything when I am driving. I’m constantly checking speed, mirrors and location.

With this foundation it improves these skill and will make everyone a think critically about driving each time we’re on the road. It will make those skills second nature and they will do it when ever they drive.
