• 35%ofthefinalblendwassourcedfromEagle&PlowVineyard.Eagle&PlowisintheheartoftheHorseHeavenHillsAVA.ThisvineyardhasaheaviersoilofBurbankrockyloamandcreatesamoreintensetanninstructurewithadelicatenose.
• Theregion’slowrainfallyieldsconcentratedfruitwithdepthandvarietalexpression.
Vinification• INTRINSIChastremendouscomplexityandimpartsrawcharacteristicsbecause45%ofthe
grapesstayedontheskinsafterfermentationforapproximately9months(averagetimefromcrushtopressforredwineisunderamonth).Thisextendedmacerationextractedtheintrinsicqualitiesofthegrape,mellowedtannins,andcreatedanunexpectedsilkytexture.
• 10%ofwinewasagedinconcretetanksfor9months,highlightingthemineralcharacterofthewine.
• 45%ofthefinalblendagedin100%olderFrenchoakfor14months.
