Sub.: Approval as a 'Forging Manufacturer" as per Indian Boiler Regulation, 1950.

Gentleman,

With reference to your letter No. IBR/APR/HM/AFF-01, dated 27-06-2014, and subsequentvisit of an Inspecting Officer of this Directorate to your workshop on 20-06-2014 for the purpose ofverification of your competency as a Forging manufacturer." I have to inform you that the same isfound satisfactory. You are now provisionally permitted for manufacturing "Forging" ( Upto 35Kgs. & Up to 8"NS x 350 mm Dia ) as per Indian Boiler Regulation,1950, under the supervisionof this Directorate for the period up to 31.12.2014, subject to following condition:

1. Drawings for forgings to be manufactured should be submitted to this office, along withchallan, towards fee for scrutiny as prescribed, under Maharashtra Boiler Rule, 1962 and itslatest amendment and approval should be obtained before commencement of manufacturing.

2. Maker's certificates of raw material viz. bars, billets etc. to be used for manufacture of forgeditems should be submitted to this office, for scrutiny and acceptance before use.

3. Forgings shall then be manufactured along with test piece/s representing the batch and heat ofthe forgings.

4 Heat treatment of forgings along with the test piece/s shall be carried out as required.

5. The test piece/s shall be tested in the presence of an Inspecting Officer of this Department inapproved testing laboratory.

6. Finished forgings shall be offered for inspection for visual check, surface defects, dimensionalcontrol etc. and subsequent stamping.

7 Consumption record of raw material used in manufacturing the forged items should be mentionedon reverse of certificates of the raw materials and produced to the Inspecting Officer forverification & endorsement.

8 Welding / repair of the forged items should not be done unless prior permission of the Director ofSteam Boilers, (M.S.) is obtained.

9. The Director reserves the right of withdrawal of approval without any prior notice, ifquality and workmanship is not found satisfactory.

10. As per rule 152(3) of Maharashtra Boiler Rules 1962, any change in Production/Ouali.yControl related staff should be immediately informed to this office.

11. As per rule 155 of Maharashtra Boiler Rules 1962, approval may bewithdrawn if-

i) It is revealed that this approval is obtained by furnishing incorrect orfalse information.

ii) No manufacturing activity is carried out for a continuous period of six months.

12. Application for renewal of this approval should be submitted to this office at least onemonth before its expiry date alongwith approval renewal fee.

13. All instructions and directives given by this Directorate, should be followed.
