a note from the pastor

Pastor’s Note dated June 4, 2006

The Parade to Harbisons A Journey of Faith…

Now 35% of the Way There!

How exciting it is to see the people of God making a

joint effort to move the parade along. Since the presen-

tation on a Sunday morning a couple of months ago we

have paid well over $50,000 on our debt. Keep up the

good work.

Our Building committee has met, and work in that di-

rection is moving forward. Pray earnestly for these good

men...it takes a bushel of wisdom to know how to pro-

ceed. If you have ideas to share with the committee,

they would be most willing to hear you out. Thank each

of you for the journey we're on together...one day, to

Harbisons...another day to heaven.

The Mission House will be open if you may have a need for the restrooms. Our plan is to have a very short ser-vice and “plow the land” for our new building. Please note, there will be no Evening Worship Service tonight.

Baptism Scheduled We are planning a Baptism, during the Evening Service, on Sunday, August 10. The service begins at 6:00PM.

Here’s Hope Ministry and R.A.C.K. Ministry Saturday, August 9 will be Back-to-School Community Day at the Mis-sion House. We will be giving away clothes, new socks, and new under-wear. In addition, the R.A.C.K. Minis-try will be giving away back packs stuffed with back to school supplies. As Preacher Jerry so sweetly remind-ed us Wednesday night, God is aware of our smallest effort. No one else may even notice but nothing is hid from God. Begin now praying and asking God to show you how you can help. We serve God by serving oth-ers! If you have never tried it, please do! God is aware of it all and He is in control ALWAYS. Little is much if God is in it!! Ways you can help: 1. Pray! Pray for the volunteers and

pray that God sends people in need, both physically and spiritu-ally.

2. Donate your time as a volunteer 3. Donate new items (socks, under-

wear, school supplies, etc.) 4. Give money, so new items can

be purchased. For more information, please see Lynn Miller or Debbie Carpenter. ►During the month of August, the house will be open to the public on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ►Volunteers are needed on Thurs-day nights to sort and stock the house. They meet from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. If you might be interested in helping, please see Lynn or any member of the team.

Old Timer’s Day We are bringing Old Timer’s Day back on Sunday, October 12! In or-der to make this a success, we need your help. If you have any old items or pictures that you are willing to al-low to be displayed, or ideas that you would like to share, please see any of the following committee members: Anita Garrett, Heather Beeler, Deb-bie Carpenter, Jenny Roach, Kim Conner, or Michelle Blankenship.

Brazil Mission Team Leaving for Rio Please join us in praying for the mission team leaving for Brazil on Thurs-day.
