Make Connections

going on in the book better, how a character feels, or what a situation is like.

Visualize

Monitor and Clarify
Stop! Did I understand what I just read? (Can I retell or summarize? Can I tell someone about events that happened or the characters or the setting?) Yes – Tell someone or tell yourself and then keep going. No – Go back and reread.
