Our staff in rural and remote schools will receive support for teaching in multi-grade classrooms.

Our students in rural and remote schools will have opportunities to learn from teachers from their own schools and from other schools and programs in the district.

Geography Our staff and students will use their natural, outdoor environments as wonderful learning spaces.

Our schools will be encouraged to seek opportunities to partner with other schools, especially our rural and remote schools, for field trip opportunities and outdoor education experiences within the district.

Diversity & Inclusion Our schools and worksites will foster a sense of belonging for everyone.

Our district will show respect for and appreciation of differences in ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education, and religion.

To honour and respect the traditional stewards of this land, our district will acknowledge the territories of the First Nations represented in our geographic region.

“In rural communities

having access to enriching

activities can be limited. The

school provides comparable and effective electives for children and does a very good

job.”

“My child is encouraged and supported by the

teachers to be exactly who she is but challenged to go beyond where

she is to reach her potential and

to try new things.”
