Hello, all my fellow denizens of Earth School !

Yes, Earth School. For that is precisely what itis. For we are simply here to learn lessons andgrow. No two people are at the same level, no twolessons are the same. We often wonder why we allgo thru suffering. And when suffering strikes, ourthought process always goes thru so many stages. Why this, why me? Well, we should say, why NOTme? We are quite simply, just one more denizen of

Earth School. Rich or poor, sick or healthy, loudor quiet. So saying, the deeper we delve into our torment, the better it is. What am I feeling, fearing, resisting, understanding ? What is this situation trying toteach me ? Is it to honour? To overcome fear ? Tolearn compassion? To learn courage? To change? Tosimply love ? How do I evolve to a higher state ofbeing that will make me into a finer Human Being

endowed with wonderful qualities, and impactthose around me positively? For all suffering is an opportunity. And whenin its throes, if we deeply embrace the lessonto be learnt, we understand that suffering isonly a teacher which, once the lesson is learnt, miraculously dissipates. Suddenly you feel freeand you can soar!At that precise point we can laud ourselves forgrowing that much more, for having climbed one

more rung in our beloved Earth School. And wecan be elated !With this approach we shall never henceforthjudge harshly, but will help and guide and endurecheerfully. For all Freewill has to end in growthand in a higher level of consciousness. For this ishow we all originally began...and how we shallall finally end.I wish you all a Wonderful New Year from me and

    all at Strand!Yours truly,

    Vidya Virkar

    LEONARADO DA VINCI

Artist, Thinker andMan of Science(Two volumes in a slipcase)

    By Eugene Muntz

In Leonardo da Vinci we havethe most perfect embodiment ofthe modern intellect, the highestexpression of the marriage of art

and science: the thinker, the poet, the wizard whose fascination isunrivalled.

Studying nature with passion, and all the independence proper tohis character, he could not fail to combine precision with liberty, and truth with beauty. It is in this final emancipation, this perfect

mastery of modeling, of illumination, and of expression, this breadthand freedom, that the masters raison dtre and glory consist. Othersmay have struck out new paths also; but none travelled further ormounted higher than he.
