Industry ProfileINTRODUCTION• Sulphuric Acid is a very important chemical. It helps to treat Sulphur

deficiency in soils. (40% Indian soil is Sulphur deficient ).• Chemical Name : Sulphuric Acid• Chemical formula : H2SO4• Properties : Strongly corrosive, dense oily liquid, often

odorless, colourless when pureSULPHUR (Raw Materials)• Annual Requirement about 30,000 M.T. mainly imported from various

Refineries Oil in Middle East / Russia.• Also purchased from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

Objectives

• To study the market research of sulphuric acid.

Page 6: Stp project

Research Methodology

RESEARCH DESIGN

It is a exploratory research consisting of quantitative and qualitative factors which I have used to explore in depth financial aspects of the company.

NATURE OF DATA

Secondary Data.

SOURCES OF DATA COLLECTION

Secondary Data was personally collected from the Organization’s internal sources, official records, annual reports, and the Organization’s website.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

• The study duration is short.

• The analysis is limited to just four years of data study (from year 2010 to year 2014).

• Limited interaction with the concerned heads due to their busy schedule

Analysis & Interpretation

• Globally more than 200 million tonnes of sulphuric acid is consumed on an annual basis and 10 million tonnes alone in India. Major raw material is sulphur which contributes to more than 60 percent of the global sulphuric acid output. • Sulphuric Acid demand is directly affected by population growth and their

need for infrastructure.Supply is attributed to increasing production of sulphur whose 90 percent volume is used for Sulphuric acid manufacture.• On the demand side, phosphate fertilizer is the main application which

consumes a large part of sulphuric acid. Demand of sulphuric acid is also from the metal leaching industry, chemical industry, petroleum refining, and pulp and paper industry.

Page 8: Stp project

• Both supply and demand is poised to increase, but make a more balanced market leading to price stability. The global annual sulphuric acid production capacity is estimated to reach 260 million tonnes and 15 million tonnes in India by 2018 which gives a CAGR of 4.5 percent over next 5 years.• This report analyzes the global sulphuric acid market by

manufacturing process, product type/concentration, application and geography.

Findings

• Market of sulphuric acid is increasing rapidly.

• Competition is becoming tough.

• Along with Indian market , international market is also growing

Page 13: Stp project

Recommendations

• The company should be more focused towards investing the capital in right manner.

• The company should also look upon to there competitors.

• The company should see to its market share as there share are going down.
