Clube Luis De Camoes Scholarship – various                      Tania VieiraTo a graduating senior who is the son/daughter of a club member of at least two years, with

a GPA of 3.00 or better, ranked in the top 50% of the class and active in school/community activities. The student must attend a two or four year institution after graduation. A three-paragraph essay is required, answering one of three questions on the scholarship application.

To a graduating senior of scholastic promise who plans to continue his/her education beyond high school and who has been accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning. The recipient of this scholarship must have been a member of the Stoughton High School Marching Band or Color Guard.

The Julie M. Conroy Memorial Scholarship - $200         Matthew SchwartzTo a graduating senior who has been serviced under Chapter 766 for a minimum of one

year, and who will further his/her education beyond graduation.  In the event that there is no student who meets this qualification, the scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to enter the field of special education.  If none of the above criteria can be met, then it will be presented to a student who plans to enter the field of general education.

mindedness.  The award will be used for tuition purposes.

The Peter Everett Scholarship - In Memory of Donnie Coleman - $300      Katelyn McSweeney

       To a graduating senior who attended the Gibbons School and who is enrolled in a Massachusetts Community College, (first preference will be given to Massasoit).  All criteria being equal, the lowest ranking class member is to receive this scholarship.  Verification of tuition payment required.  This may be used in either semester or the academic year following graduation.  If not used within this time frame, the scholarship will be forfeited.

To graduating seniors who have played varsity ice hockey at Stoughton High School and wishes to continue their education either at a college, trade school, military service or other higher educational institution.  For monies to be distributed after scholarship selection, student must provide the school  with either a tuition bill or receipts totaling scholarship amount for education-related expenses: ie: laptop computer, books or other educational materials.

Criteria for scholarship: Must have played ice hockey for Stoughton High School for at least two years. Must graduate having completed their senior year playing ice hockey for Stoughton High

School. Must have assisted and promoted the Friends of Stoughton Hockey organization.

To a graduating senior who has maintained a “B” average for the last two years while enrolled in college preparatory courses.  The applicant should be accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning with the intent of pursuing a career in medicine, therapy, or a related health field.  He/she should be active in school and community activities and have the recommendation of a teacher, counselor, health care professional, or clergyman.

Gibbons School P.T.A. Scholarship - $500                Jessica Angelos

To a graduating senior of scholastic promise who attended the Gibbons School for at least three years.  The recipient must have been accepted at an institution of higher learning and be encouraged to continue education by virtue of the financial assistance rendered by this award.

Jen Gitto Scholarship - $300                            Lucy CarvalhoTo a graduating senior who has demonstrated significant community service in helping

children or the elderly, who has been a positive influence on the graduating class, and who has been accepted into a four year accredited college program.  Preference will be given to a person who will continue to provide care and service to the young or elderly in their career choice.

Nancy Murray Giroux Arts Scholarship - $1,000   William McNamaraTo a graduating senior who plans to pursue an education in fine arts.  Strong

preference will be given to students who plan to specialize in or incorporate extensive use

of photography.  The winner will be determined by strength of portfolio, passion for photography, and financial need.

Goddard Health Foundation (2) - $1,500          Simone Kushnirsky                To graduating seniors who plan to continue their education in the health care field.  It is

available to students who are enrolled in a public high school and are residents of one of the following towns or city: Stoughton, Easton, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater, and Brockton.  Each student must be enrolled or have been accepted into a two-year, four-year degree or certificate program. Each winner must be a person of good character, demonstrate a need, and also have a well-balanced interest in studies and extracurricular activities.  

Paul M. Goulston Memorial Scholarship - $500    Nicholas O’NeillTo a graduating senior who has attended Stoughton High School for at least two years and

who has indicated an interest in the field of medicine, nursing, or pharmacology.  The student should have been active in school or community activities and not the recipient of another scholarship of equal or greater value.

To a graduating senior who has been a member of the football and/or cheerleading program and has played or cheered for four years on the Stoughton teams.  Student must have strong academic credentials with a grade point average of B (85) or better. These seniors must also have shown a great respect for the schools’ code of discipline and conduct. These seniors should be strong role models for future Black Knight players and cheerleaders.  Senior must write an essay on what playing football and cheering for the team has done to prepare them for college life.

Elementary School a minimum of three full years, including all of Grade 5.  The recipient should be ranked among the top 75 students in his/her class and should have demonstrated good citizenship and academic excellence.  He/she should have participated in extracurricular activities.

Thomas J. & Dorothy Herron, Jr. Memorial Scholarship - $300     Kevin SullivanTo a graduating senior who has attended Stoughton High a minimum of two years and who

plans on attending an institution of higher education.  Preferably, the student will have actively participated in high school sports at the varsity level.

The Honey Dew Donuts Scholarship - $250         Bryan CarterTo a graduating senior who will attend an accredited four year college or university, and/or

maintains a B- average or better, and/or participates in local community/charitable activities,

JDC Memorial Scholarship- Jordan’s Threshold of a Dream- $500   Abby KobrinThis scholarship is to honor the memory of Jordan D. Cibley, an SHS student who was

killed in an auto accident on May 13, 2007.  It is lovingly presented in his memory by his aunt and uncle Ellen and Rich Maltzman and their children Sarah and Daniel.  This scholarship is for students who might not otherwise receive a scholarship and plan to attend the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

to further his or her education.

with an interest in liberal arts/communications or in environmental studies. The graduate should be an outdoor enthusiast sensitive to preserving the quality of our environment.

Sara McNeill Memorial Scholarship - $1,500              Dylan LaneTo a graduating senior who has overcome adversity, either in learning or in personal life.

The student should demonstrate perseverance and resiliency.  Applicants should be planning tp pursue higher education although they need not attend a four year college.  Students should submit a 1-2 typed page essay explaining the challenges they have met.  Two faculty members or staff from SHS should sign the essay in support of the student’s application.

unselfishness and a willingness to help others.  He/she must participate in extracurricular activities, have attended Stoughton High School for 4 years, and must be attending a 4 year college or university in the fall.

Dr. Robert G. O'Donnell Memorial Scholarship - $500     Dylan HolbrookTo a graduating senior who demonstrates loyalty, concern for others, good moral character

and integrity. The recipient must be accepted to a four year college and be a member of a single parent family. A 150-word essay entitled "How I Demonstrate Loyalty" is required.

Catherine Marie Olson Memorial Scholarship - $200               Robert McPhallTo a graduating senior who has participated in the Chapter I or other special needs program

in the Stoughton schools.  The recipient must have been accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning.  Preference will be given to a student who attended the West Elementary School.

Leokadia and Antonio Rafalko Scholarship - $300         Joanna MacinaTo a graduating senior who has been accepted at an accredited institution of higher

learning, who ranks in the top 15% of the class, who shows leadership qualities, good moral character, and strong values, and who has displayed involvement in school and community activities.  Preference will be given to applicants of Polish heritage.

Randolph Savings Bank Scholarship - $2,000                      Dylan HolbrookTo a graduating senior who is deserving and will pursue higher education.

Shirley Reppucci Memorial Scholarship (2) - $500                Fabio ColafrancescoWhitney SimonTo graduating seniors who will pursue higher education.  These students must have been

active within the Music Department and must have demonstrated exemplary service, dedication, and spirit to the music organization.  The recipients will be chosen by the Music Department. This scholarship is sponsored by the Parents of Performing Students Inc.

continue in higher education, best exemplify the values of honesty, compassion, and  citizenship, and perform community service.

To a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding community service in the town of Stoughton.  The recipient of this scholarship must have been in attendance at Stoughton High School for four years and must have been accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning.

Polly Savicki Memorial Scholarship - $500                       Amy SiegelTo a graduating senior who has financial need and a desire for a career in education.

Preference will be given to a senior who excels in mathematics and/or science.

Richard Chandler Sawyer Memorial Scholarship - $500     Matthew SchwartzTo a graduating senior who will pursue further education in the field of print journalism. In

memory of Richard Chandler Sawyer, who never applied for a scholarship, this scholarship recipient shall be chosen by the English Department and not by the usual application process.

Elissa P. Selig Memorial Scholarship - $500                     Robert McPhallTo a graduating senior who will be studying journalism or communication.

Richard Smith Memorial Scholarship - $150                       Samantha McPhallTo a graduating senior of scholastic promise who has been enrolled at Stoughton High

School for at least four years and is continuing education beyond high school.  Preference will be given to a student entering the field of environmental studies.

Sons of Italy, Stoughton, in memory of our beloved brothers and sisters (2) - $250 Justine Quattrucci

Detective John P. Sousa Memorial Scholarship - $300             Yakira MoralesTo a graduating senior who is going on toward a degree in law enforcement or criminal

justice.  In the event that no graduating senior qualifies for the scholarship, it can be given to a graduate of Stoughton High School who is currently earning a degree in law enforcement or criminal justice. Given by the Blue Knights, Inc., Massachusetts Chapter 1.  

South School P.T.O. Scholarship - $200                  Melissa Romaine                 To a graduating senior who has been accepted into a two or four year program of

continuing education.  The recipient should be ranked in the top 100 of his/her class and have attended the South Elementary School for a minimum of three years.

South Shore Savings Bank Citizenship Award - $500               Lindsey GallagherTo a graduating senior who has displayed personal qualities of sincerity, responsibility and

conscientiousness; has demonstrated a commitment and concern for community, and does not necessarily excel academically, but has made the school a better place because he/she was part of it.

Stoughton Association for Exceptional Citizens Scholarship (1) - $250   Bianca SellittoTo graduating seniors who are going on to higher education.  Scholarship to be presented to

one or more sons or daughters of S.A.E.C. members.  In the event that there is no student who meets this qualification, the scholarship should go to one with a mental or physical handicap.  If not possible, it may be awarded to a student being served under Chapter 766.  If none of the above criteria can be met, then it may be presented to a student who plans to enter the field of special education.

Stoughton Boosters Community Scholarship (2) - $750     Robert McPhall                                                                George McCormick        To a graduating senior who has demonstrated involvement in their community and has done significant community service.  The student must be accepted into an accredited college or university.  Preference will be given to a student who has a Stoughton Booster Member parent/guardian.  Please submit a resume style list of what you have done with and for your community.

Stoughton Friends for Seniors Scholarship – $500                George McCormick        To a graduating senior who is a National Honor Society member who has performed extensive community service for friends for Seniors.

To graduating seniors who have played within the Stoughton Youth Soccer League, and have volunteered their time and effort (refereeing, coaching, etc.) to insure the continued success of the Stoughton Youth Soccer League program.  Up to two scholarships may be awarded per year.  The graduating student must be a resident of Stoughton, but need not be attending Stoughton High School.  Candidates must include a detailed resume listing their involvement with Stoughton Youth Soccer League.  Candidates must be attending an accredited two or four year college.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Scholarship - $200        Erica GreeneTo a graduating senior who has displayed outstanding effort promoting the cause of

preventing destructive decisions of all sorts and increasing student and community awareness of this issue.  Consideration is given, but not limited to, leadership, citizenship, SADD membership and academic achievement.  

Lillian V. It is to be used for tuition purposes and should not be available to a student receiving other scholarships.

To a graduating senior who has attended Stoughton High School for three out of four years and has been accepted to an accredited four year school of higher learning, and who plans to pursue a career in the sciences with medical school/medical research as a future career goal. The student should display the following characteristics: compassion, cooperation, sensitivity, love for fellow students, zest for life and eagerness, willingness and a "thirst" to learn.
