1 ES, CU Establishing shot of road name to introduce the soap opera. The name of the street is iconic to the soap opera and so should be the first thing to see.

STATIC: Depth of field change from view of street to focus on street name.

Soundtrack begins “Welcome to your life…”

2 CU Glance down on positive pregnancy test. Should be from the female protagonist’s point of view with a major focus on the test.

STATIC: Zoom in on pregnancy test from POV. Un-focus surrounding image.

Female protagonist looks up into the mirror at her reflection in slow-motion with a facial expression of worry.

Dystopian lighting Soundtrack continues, ”..There’s no turning back..”

STATIC: Zoom into the reflection on the mirror, focusing on the female’s face.

MS

Switch to celebrations in pub. Everyone drinking, laughing being happy. Camera will be focused on female smiling, laughing. Shot will center on the protagonist while she walks through a crowd of people.

MS Slight pan from left to right

Introduction to boyfriend. Camera tilts up to both characters, with the boyfriend looking at her. She looks back at him and ‘puts on’ a smile.

Tilt up from waist to face at a slightly slower pace.

Switch back to dystopian setting. Female is sat upright with face in knees, curled up.

9 MCU STATIC: Slow zoom on female’s face.

8 Close up to pregnancy test next to her. The focus will change from her to the test beside her on the bed. The angle will be low with a close up of the test with the focus of the shot switching from the character to the test.

Zoom on female’s face as she catches eye contact with someone or something that she recognises.

10 MS STATIC: Slow motion reveal of character.

Someone will walk past the camera and reveal the male character (antagonist), standing behind a crowd, who is involved with the female. The character will be wearing dark clothing eg, black shirt or leather jacket.

11 CU Tilt slightly downwards following the female’s eye line towards getting mobile.

Reverse shot to female’s face in guilt/worry as she receives a text message. Camera will follow the attention to mobile.

12 Mobile phone will show a text from the antagonistic male saying “Why don’t you tell him who the real father is??”

ECU STATIC: Focus on text from mobile, ensuring it is clear to read.

13 Camera will resume back to female’s face. Face will be filled with guilt as she glances back at antagonist.

CU STATIC: Focus on female’s face as she looks back up to antagonist’s face.

14 Shot of male in same place looking directly at female character. Male will have a sinister smile as he engages eye contact.

MS STATIC: Focus on male’s facial expression change.

15 Switch back to female and boyfriend, everybody happy and smiling around her, she still holds a face of guilt. She looks down slowly closing eyes.

MS STATIC: Focus on action.

16 Hand placed on Female’s left shoulder from boyfriend.

17 Camera will focus on female’s face as boyfriend moves round the front of her.

18 Camera angle switches to a low angle as the boyfriend drops to one knee preparing to propose.

20 Camera will focus on female’s face as she looks shocked and glances from the ring to the antagonist male.

21 Camera switches back to antagonist who is also shocked.


22 Camera cuts back to female character who now looks back at boyfriend.


23 High angle of boyfriend from the side will show him smiling.

23 Female pushes past boyfriend in a hurry to leave.

LS, MS Pan to follow the female protagonist.

24 Camera will watch ring drop to the floor in slow motion.


25 Camera will focus on female from outside as she exits the building in a panic. Female will look down as she looks for her keys.


26Camera will be positioned just behind the female’s hand as she finds the car keys. In the distance behind the hand will be the car which will come into focus after the keys are found. Female will then move towards the car, obstructing the camera.

27 Camera will pan across the front of the car as the female enters.

MS Pan to the left across bonnet of car.

28 Boyfriend will exit the pub and look towards the car. Camera will follow the boyfriend as he runs to the car.

MS Pan to follow the boyfriend then track the boyfriend’s run from behind.

29 Camera will be placed on opposite side of car so as to obstruct the view of the boyfriend. The car will pull away to the right and reveal the boyfriend who is clearly upset and his glance will follow the car off.

MCU Pan from behind the car up so as to match the eye level of the boyfriend.

30 Camera will show the ring hang between the fingers of the boyfriend in focus. Then the focus will switch to the figure in the background who is the antagonist.

31 Camera will be behind the boyfriend as he slowly looks behind him and up to the antagonist.


32 Camera will be partly obstructed by boyfriend’s head as it shows his eye line match with antagonist.


33 Camera will placed low showing a view of the boyfriend from below the antagonist. The camera will show this as the door closes ending the scene.


OR possibly pan down from antagonist head to reveal boyfriend.
