Story BoardIdea 3

Page 2: Story Board

LyricsBehind the bars I begin to rot Wondering whether I will die or not Feel the greed as I begin to bleedWill they let me out to let the fire out?

Will I ever be free?Or will I be shot down before I hear the sound Of me being freeMy shackles will be a joke when it’s your

hanging rope

I hear the guard yelling in the yardFinish it now before he fulfils his vowKnowing that my time is nearI need to turn the tables and get rid of the fear

Will I ever be free?Or will I be shot down before I hear the sound Of me being freeMy shackles will be a joke when it’s your

hanging rope

He opens the door And throws me to the floorWhat will I do? He says your life is no moreWill I become a man?And open up my brainOr will I lay back down and give into the painWill I be set free?Or will I ease to beWill they let me out to let the fire out?

“Shouts set free” X 4

Page 6: Story Board

Will I ever be free? – the question of whether he will continue to be imprisoned or whether he will be allowed to be a free man.

Page 7: Story Board

Shackles - A metal object which allows little movement and no escape. Shows how he cannot escape.

Page 8: Story Board

Guard – A prison guard is somebody who makes sure the prisoners do not escape. The guard is the force stopping him from being free.

Page 9: Story Board

Open up my brain – The brain is a vital organ in the body that allows us to think. The idea of him opening up his brain is that he is allowed to think, and be human.

Page 11: Story Board

The beginning scene would compromise of a close up of the vocalists feet. The camera will then pan up slowly and track backwards so we can see the vocalist walking down a corridor. This will be in slow motion as to build tension.

As the vocalist is walking down the corridor there will be shots coming from the perspective of the vocalist.

These shots will compromise of the vocalist looking through at four more cells, each of these cells containing one member of the band.

This opening scene will be the first glimpse of your band.

The slow motion will help build the suspense of what is going to come.

Representation

• The Vocalist will be wearing different clothing to the rest of the band

• The Vocalist will be dressed up as if he was being taken to prison.

• The rest of the band will be dressed in the band t-shirts

• All of the band will be wearing the conventional clothing of a heavy metal band.

• When the vocalist is seen with the band he will be wearing the band t-shirt to show how he wishes he could be free to be with them.

• The prison guard will be a conventional prison guard. He will appear mean and fierce. At the lyrics “I hear the guard yelling in the yard” there will be a close up of the guard yelling so we can see and feel the fierce attitude he has.

Page 13: Story Board

The shots of the band playing will be on a concrete area, as if it is

outside of the prison.

This will make it clear of how they are free, and the comparison of the

enclosed cell and the open area they are playing in will give the

audience a better idea of the video’s meaning.

Page 14: Story Board

The vocalist on the other hand will be trapped inside of the cell.

There will be a variety of different shots and different angles where we see him

trying to escape from the prison cell.

When the guard “opens the door And throws me to the floor” the guard will

come through and we will see a middle shot of the guard forcing him to the floor

with a close up shot of the vocalist as if he is on the floor looking at us.

To depict the “opening of the brain” a close up shot of the vocalists head will be

taken with the vocalist using hand movements to show his frustration and

anger.
