In the premier league , despite
their terrible start to the sea-

playing well and have not lost a
single game with their new man-
ager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are
maintaining a high status on the
leader board, with Mohammed
Salah scoring the most goals (16).

THE PLASTIC PLANET
THE FACTS AND FIGURES
8 million tonnes of plastic enters the
world’s oceans each year.
By 2050, it is estimated that there
will be more plastic in the ocean
than fish.
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch co-
vers an area of 1,500,000 square kil-
ometres: that’s more than 60 times
the size of the UK’s land mass.
3,868,818 tonnes of electrical waste
is produced within the EU each year.
The UK goes through 3,408,580,000
plastic milk bottles annually.
Every minute, a truck load of plastic
enters the ocean.
There is more micro-plastics in the
ocean than stars in the Milky Way.
322 million tons of plastic were pro-
duced in 2015—the same weight as
900 Empire State Buildings .
If all the plastic in the world was
made into cling-film, it could cover
the entire planet.
THE PLASTIC PROBLEM
Plastic makes up 90% of all marine waste,
we tend to use them once and then throw
them away: but it finds its way into all the
most beautiful and iconic marine creatures
and landscapes. It has been revealed that
plastic pollution effects 100% of turtles, 59%
of whales, 36% of seals and 40% of seabirds,
of which a million are killed by plastics per
year. Even worse, plastic does not
decompose, so essentially every piece of
plastic ever made is still in our environment,
sitting there for thousands of years waiting
to choke a marine creature and litter our
planet.
WASTE AT THE RACECOURSE
Chester Racecourse is one of the largest
companies in Chester: it has 250,000 visitors
annually, therefore having a lot of influence,
and the smallest of changes could make the
biggest of differences. But with all of those visi-
tors, there is inevitably going to be a lot of
waste. The racecourse sells 900,000 drinks to
customers each year, 70% of which are sold in
plastic. However, products such as straws and
cutlery are made of non-plastic materials.
Angus Wilson, Head of Catering at Chester
racecourse, will tell us more information on how
the racecourse manage their waste and what
the plans are for the future.
“At the racecourse, our recycling and environ-
mental management has not been an area of
particular focus in previous years; however it is
something that I am committed to improving
having done so in previous roles in other organi-
sations, and our focus and commitment will be
improved in the coming years in all areas , not
just with regards to plastic usage. All areas will
receive focus, such as cardboard, glass, and food
waste, and the opportunities to recycle and
manage these areas of waste more effectively.
Most of our waste is collected by the cleaning
contractor and removed as general waste — on
a race day cleaning the site is done very quickly
but due to the multiple types and volume of
rubbish that is thrown around the course, the
sorting of it is a challenge so most does end up
as general waste.
My plan is to look at either a recyclable cup for
drinks, or a poly-carbonate cup that we can use
multiple times by washing although that does
throw up a number of logistical challenges in
how we wash around 40,000 cups a day. These
poly carb cups are five times more expensive
than our current single use plastic glasses so will
have a financial impact on our business which
we need to manage either through ensuring that
we do get multiple use from them and they are
not treated as general waste, or by getting
somebody to take advertising space on them to
in effect pay for them, or to tie in with a local
charity (ideal choice) to encourage customers to
place them in collection bins rather than throw-
ing them on the ground, for which we would
make a donation to that charity. This is a project
that we are just embarking on so we probably
have more questions than answers at the mo-
ment but hopefully will give you an idea of the
challenges that we face, and some of our
thoughts as to how we are going to tackle these
challenges.
Other areas of waste I am looking at are an
external company who will provide recycling
facilities on site at the racecourse. These will
include things such as glass crushers for all our
glass bottles, cardboard balers to deal with card-
board, and a food waste system that will reduce
5 bins of food waste to 1 bin of odourless
powder to be removed.
I have a meeting with the Plastic Free Pioneers
from Chester friends of the Earth next week and
hopefully we will start seeing some
improvements at Chester Racecourse in the
coming months, to start moving forward to
where we should be for an organisation of our
size.”

Nasa mission to save us from
Yellowstone volcano
1- Yellow stone intro
2- Location and facts
3- Nasa plan
4– Ups
5– Downs
Sources with images are
all over the page
The Yellow stone caldera is a
super volcano and an immense
one , it is a very popular tour-
ist site , well near the volca-
no. Many people see this
beautiful site as a threat
though because it really is. It
could erupt in any moment
and cost a lot for the repair.
The Yellow stone volcano had had
several eruptions from before
and they all seemed to be in some
sort of pattern , it was last
erupted 640,000 years ago and in
our time period it is way overdue.
It could happen almost any time.
People do keep tract of the heat
and how it is reacting but some
people say it is extremely unlike-
ly that an eruption could happen
in our lifetime. Nasa has the plan
to cool it down. Just dig some
type of foundation and cool down
the lava that is rising.
Nasa had the plan to
save us of course that’s
a great idea! Saving hu-
manity? They could also
get clean energy which
could be used for all
sorts of things if con-
verted. The plan would
involve precise digging
and you would need ex-
perienced. But it would
certainly be better to
be save than worry
about the consequences
of an eruption.
It would cost a whop-
ping $3.6 bn though and
if any foundation or
some type of pipe is
misplaced , it could cer-
tainly trigger an erup-
tion. It could erupt the
volcano faster than in-
tended and it could
cause a global crisis.
Located in the Western unit-
ed states where it is also lo-
cated in the north west cor-
ner of Wyoming. If it erupted
it could easily kill all crops
and stretch all the way to
New York. It would make the
atmosphere toxic and also
the food would go so low that
in an average of 2 months we
would run out. The sunlight
would not reach us as much
because of the gas in the air
covering up the sun and a very
serious winter would start.

Film review
Caption (left)
These are all the main
characters from the film,
and the main villain:
Thanos the mad titan. An
ogre like brute whose
shadow has been lurking
over the movies for years
now, but if you're not
caught up here's a helpful
reminder. A character not
many people are sure on is
vision. He is a being creat-
ed by Iron man and the Introduction
Infinity War was the film
comic book fans have been
waiting for, for 10 years! And
they were not disappointed!
It managed to give each
character a healthy amount
of screen time in a large ros-
ter. Its even got a place in
the Oscars!
Story
The objective of Thanos is to
catch all the infinity stones,
gems created at the beginning of
the universe, it is said if you cap-
ture all of them you will have the
power of a god. The mad titan
intends to wipe out half of the
universe. He wants a perfect
world, one with no poverty or un-
happiness so if less people are
there, then there is more for
everyone, but the heroes are
having none of this! But the real
question is can you beat someone
who is almost a god?
For
This film is great for those
who have been following the
marvel films for a while as
there was a lot of hype for
this release. In fact people
have even started making
theories for the sequel! Even
looking at trailers!
Against
You can probably expect
why this may be a bad point
but if you have just heard
that there is a new super-
hero film and there are
characters from movies you
haven’t seen you may be
confused and not enjoy it.

plicated relationship with him

crew) Thanos’s step daughter!
Drax another member, had is

tack!

so a new found member of
the group. Hulk and he has an infini-
ty stone in his head!
Brexit means Brexit?
This is the first page of a news special! Talking
about Brexit to educate these who may not realise
how much it can effect people
Recently you may have seen in the news or on tv multiple peo-
ple arguing over a subject, Known as brexit. This is a very con-
troversial topic as people tend to have strong opinions on the
subject and in this article we have interviewed two people on
differing sides on brexit. On the for side of the argument
we have whats known as a ‘hard-core brexiteer’ with the in-
ternet username known as bigton_1973 and on the against
side we have a ‘remainer’ who chooses to be anonymous.
We asked people about their
opinion on Brexit:
Question: “how do you feel
about the Brexit negotia-
tions at the moment and
what do you think can be
done better ?”
Answer: “Personally I feel
like the negotiations have
been a failure in represent-
ing the UK’s interests be-
cause Theresa May never
supported us leaving the EU
in the first place and there-
fore has not attempted to
create a brexit deal that the
majority of UK voters want-
ed.”
Question: “How would you
feel about David Cameron
bailing out of the situation
that he started in the first
place?”
Answer; “I think he ius very
foolish as he’s the only one
whop allowed for a Brexit
referendum in the first place
but wasn't willing to deal
with the consequences
Answer: legendary idea from
the country the best thing
about it is that all the for-
eigners are outlands we will
have more jobs and houses
available best idea the coun-
tries' had
For some people Brexit
is good due to article 13
which is a way of copy-
right that can be lethal
to internet culture and
meme.
Brexit can be bad be-
cause millions could lose
their jobs and maybe lose
there house.
Many people who have im-
migrated to the uk may
face deportation

A Special Feature
11 February 2019
In this article we will
Conclude the brexit
Argument and how to
explain brexit to the
Younger generation.
We
Will talk about how
Brexit effects jobs
and
House prices and how
it will effect the econ-
omy
Also we will talk about
brexit between the
community and how
most people feel about
the apocalyptic mess
that is brexit.
At the minute Brexit
is looking like a
mess. what can we
do better?
Brexit to kids seems like a
shouting match from a big
room. But Brexit in its sim-
plest form means “Brexit
means Britain retaking con-
trol of the laws of this
country and its right to in-
dependence”. Jobs can be
lost at Brexit and house
prices can come down. For
example, the only place in
the uk where airbus make
there planes will heavily im-
pacted by Brexit and might
no go well. Airbus provides
thousands of job to Chester
and the surrounding area.
But house price will go down
after Brexit however
Can we fix Brexit? The
short answer is no but
the way we can go about
it can be beneficial to
the uk. We leave the Eu
is on the 29,3,2019. The-
resa May is under fire
from parliament and her
deal dose not go down
well. A new deal is not an
option for us at the mo-
ment and we have all
been thinking what have
we been doing for 2 year.
Brexit, so what's the deal? [conclusion]
by how much is un-
certain. Brexit is
overall a mess and
there is a lot that
needs changing for it
to work.
11 February 2019
How will Brexit affect the UK?
In this article
We have talked about
how brexit will:
affect transport,
prices,
Shipping trades
and
everyday normal
jobs.
Here are some quotes from
Theresa May on Brexit:
“I have always said that
these negotiations would be
tough - and they were al-
ways bound to be toughest
in the final straight.”
“While both sides want a
deal, we have to face up to
the fact that - despite the
progress we have made -
there are two big issues
where we remain a long way
apart.”
“In plain English, this would
mean we’d still have to
abide by all the EU rules,
uncontrolled immigration
from the EU would continue
and we couldn’t do the
trade deals we want with
other countries.”
There are many
different people who
voted leave on the
Brexit . A Few of them
are:
¬ Matthew Jim Elliot
¬ Dominic Cummings
¬ Boris Johnson
There are many
different people who
voted stay . A Few of
them are:
¬ Adam Afriyie
¬ Lucy Allan
¬ Heidi Allen
In a historic referendum on
June 23rd 2016, Britain voted
to leave the European Union.
After which, the pound fell to
its lowest since 1985. The UK
is considered one of the best
countries to start a business,
but that could change due to
the unknown effects Brexit
could bring.
There are Brexit campaigners
who have optimistic predictions
for Britain and its businesses.
But there are still many scep-
tics who predict that this has
been a big mistake for Britain,
and that it will be seriously im-
pacted by multiple factors.
The European Union exists as a
single marketplace, with no tar-
iffs imposed on trade between
member states. As a result, as
a member of the EU, more than
50% of our recent exports
have gone to other EU coun-
tries, trade which will now be
more difficult.
We are still currently decid-
ing on the deal for leaving
the EU

will be introduced and so will
self driving cars
Supercars are the fastest type
of car. They can reach speeds of
around 300 mph (which is by the
Hennessey venom F5) but there
are some cars which are really
underrated. Some of these cars
include :the arrinera hussarya,
the Apollo arrow etc. the fastest
road legal car is also a Hennessey
but is a venom GT. The most ex-
pensive car is the Lamborghini
veneno roadster which costs 3.3
million pounds

At the moment, the Hennes-
sey venom F5 is the fastest
car in the world reaching a
whopping 301mph and having
the torque of 1300 lb-ft.
(which is a lot) but will soon
be exceeded. If you own an
electric car as well as saving
the environment, you don’t
have to pay road tax! The
most popular car selling web-
site is CarMax which has sold
100,000 hybrid (electric
cars ) and that figure will be
rising rapidly over the years
