Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the

Fundraising Auction Objective Every community, club and organization is
responsible to execute fundraising efforts to offset production and operational costs as well as elevate programming opportunities
This includes schools, minor sports, community halls, non-profit groups, 4-H and many more that creatively fundraise for benevolent benefit.
Many rural communities have rallied together for benefit fundraisers with proceeds going to a family that have experienced adversity or even tragedy
It is important for our young rural leaders to learn the responsibility to ‘give back’ regardless whether with monetary contribution or volunteerism
Topics & Guidelines for Auction Items
1. Identify an Auction Item
Juniors (ages 9 – 11): Create and/or source an authentic item that showcases your greatest passion. Examples include: celebrating food, sport, industry, art, culture, etc.
Intermediates (ages 12 – 14): Create and/or source an item that reflects the diversity and uniqueness of livestock byproducts. Examples include: beauty products, health & wellness, sports equipment, clothing, etc.
Seniors (ages 15 – 20): Create and/or source an item that is useful to managing and/or promoting your respective livestock species. Examples include: a gestational calendar, livestock handling tools, show equipment, digital apps, etc.

2. Create a Promotional Poster
Complete with quality photo, brief item description and contact information submitted in only one format: .jpeg format only!!!
This high quality poster will be your sale lot photo in catalog and all promotions so make it clear, high resolution and compelling!
3. Provide a Marketing Strategy
One page strategy that identifies:
Detailed description of what your item is; The significant marketing value to this item
What steps are you taking to promote, advertise, engage and make your target audience interested in purchasing your item? Ex: Social Media, Posters, E-Blasts, Contests, etc.
4. Execute the Strategy to maximize value for item!

Please DO NOT repeatedly contact ORE; if there is a problem with your submission, we will contact you!
You promote your item in an accurate, effective and honest manner
You ensure delivery and receipt of the item to the buyer (if applicable) or delivery of required information to Summer Synergy if your item relates to the event itself

Online Auction will be administrated and hosted by DV Auction
June 20th: Online Sale Catalog Available
June 28th – 30th, 2019
Summer Synergy Fundraising Sale
Horse Race Finish at 7pm on the 30th
Olds Regional Exhibition (ORE) & DV Auctions will create a “Sale” with all posters representing each submission
A DV Auction link to the Summer Synergy Fundraising Sale will be available on Synergy’s Facebook and website
ORE will invoice the highest bidder for each item; payment complete with 7 days
ORE will display signage at Summer Synergy recognizing all buyers
All revenue from fundraising auction will be allocated to the Summer Synergy Setting Sails youth opportunities!
Evaluation Criteria
Creativity ~ 10 points Is the item unique, thoughtful, relevant, homemade?
Strategy ~ 40 points Was your strategy complete, organized, well written, logical?
5 bonus points allocated if item/materials/service/experience was sponsored and/or partly sponsored?
Execution ~ 30 points Did you do what you said you would do in the strategy?
Sale Value ~ 20 points Was there “perceived value” (ie: a greater than retail value) in your
item and did it contribute to a quality fundraising objective?
Possible “Perfect Score” of 105 Points!!!
