1. EXTENSION DESCRIPTION

Store & Currency Auto Switcher Extension lets you automatically switch store view, currency, apply local taxes and more.

Using the Max Mind technology, the extension detects visitors’ geographical location by the IP address and redirects them to the corresponding Website/Store View.

Also, Store and Currency Switcher can bring users to their local store by identifying the browser language.

On top of that, the module automatically switches store currency for store owners who are running a multi-currency store setup.

Store Switcher – Sends visitors to the right local Website/ Store using geo location and browser language/ locks site switching for certain countries, IP addresses or site URLs/ tests a redirect based on different locations right in the back-end.

Currency Switcher – Automatically tracks customer’s IP address and switches the default currency/ lets customers pre-select billing and shipping country during the checkout.

Tax Switcher – Applies local taxes according to the customers’ location.

Geo IP – Tracks customer's location and order geographical origin in real-time (based on MaxMind Geolocation Technology).

2. EXTENSION INSTALLATION

To install the extension, please follow the steps below:

1. Disable the Compilation Mode (if enabled)

2. Log out from Magento Admin Panel (if logged in)

3. Unpack the contents of the Extension folder (depending on your current Magento version) from the package file purchased from Mageworx to your Magento root folder

4. Log into Magento Admin Panel

5. Go to System - Cache Management section, select Refresh under the All Cache drop-down menu and press the Save Cache Settings (if Cache Control is enabled in Magento)

6. Go to System - Configuration - MageWorx tab - Extensions & Support section. If you see Store & Currency Auto Switcher on the list of installed MageWorx extensions, the installation is done.

7. Re-run the Compilation Mode again (not enable it but re-run)

3. GENERAL SETTINGS

To configure the extension, log into Magento Admin panel and go to System - Configuration - MAGEWORX tab - Customers.

GeoIP Database Section:

Database Type – the extension supports two types of GeoIP database: GeoIP Country and GeoIP City.

NOTE! To use the City database you need to download it first from maxmind.com and upload to your server to the ‘lib/GeoIP’ folder.

Update Current Database – allows you to update the GeoIP database right in the back-end and track the date of the last update.

Customer Location Section:

Enable in Order View – enables/disables an Order View customer’s location. If enabled, you will see a customer’s country and city including a zip code (in case the GeoIP City database is used).

Enable in Online Customers Grid – displays a full GeoIP location in the online customers list.

Currency Auto Switcher Section:

Enable – enables/disables a front-end currency switcher based on visitors’ locations. User Agent List – the list of user agents, the currency won’t be switched for. NOTE! Add search engine bots to this list to index your site correctly.

Exception URLs – the list of URLs, the currency switcher should be disabled for. NOTE! You can add the URLs of payment processing gateways.

Store Switcher Section:

Enable Store Auto Switcher – enables the store switcher based on the GeoIP location of your visitors.

Force Store View for Geo Location – allows/forbids switching store views manually on the front-end. If enabled, customers will be redirected to the corresponding Store View but won’t be able to switch it manually later.

Store Auto Switcher Scope – the scope can be Website or Global.

• Website – switches between Store Views inside one website.• Global – switches between several websites with their own Store Views.

Disable Key – the URL pattern, which disables the switcher. For example, if you need to browse your site without redirects, add the following ‘?_store_switcher=key’ to your URL.

Exception URLs – the list of URLs, for which the store switcher should be disabled. You can add the URLs of payment processing gateways. Example: /paypal/* or /twocheckout/*.

Auto Switch Billing Country – allows switching a billing country during the checkout (based on visitor’s location).

Auto Switch Shipping Country – lets you switch a shipping country during the checkout (based on visitor’s location).

Auto Switch Address Country – allows switching the country address when creating a new account during the checkout (based on visitor’s location).

Replace Default Store Switcher – replaces the default Magento Store View switcher with the MageWorx Store Switcher on the front-end. Customers will see the message ‘Your country is …’ and the list of available countries instead of the Store Views.

Countries Display Mode – specifies how the countries should be displayed on the front-end: a country name or a country name + flag.

Switchable Countries – let’s you select the countries that will be available for choosing on the front-end.

IP List – lets you define the list of IP addresses store switcher should be disabled for.

User Agent List – the list of user agents for which a store view won’t be switched. NOTE! Add search engine bots to this list for a proper site indexation.

Choose Country – allows testing the site from any country you need. Just select a country and click on a 'View Site' button.

4. CURRENCY SWITCHER

To configure Currency Switcher, go to System – Configuration – Currency Setup – Allowed Currencies and select allowed currencies:

After that, go to System – Manage Currency – Rates and specify currency rates for the selected currencies:

When done, the allowed currencies will be switched automatically based on visitors’ locations.

If a customer’s currency is not allowed at your site, the default currency for the loaded Store View will be displayed.

NOTE! The Currency Switcher switches only the displayed currency. All the transactions will be processed in the base currency.

To change the relations between a country and its currency, go System – Manage Currency – Relations:

NOTE! Only the allowed currencies are displayed here. To reset relations, select the ‘Reset’ option for the necessary currencies and save the configuration. If customers manually switch a country or a store view on the front-end, the currency will be switched accordingly.

The extension doesn’t add a manual currency switcher to the front-end. The default Magento has it available on the category pages only.

5. STORE SWITCHER

To assign necessary countries to the Store Views, go to System – Manage Stores.

You can select countries if the GeoIP database is used or countries and their regions if the GeoIP City database is enabled:

NOTE! Do not assign the same countries to different Store Views if you are using the ‘Website’ Scope.

5. GEOIP DETECTION

Store & Currency Auto Switcher is integrated with the extensive GeoIP Country and GeoIP City databases.

To track customer's location and order geographical origin, go to Sales – Orders – Order View or to the Customers – Online Customers grid:
