DRAWBACKS IN THE PROCESS OF STORAGE

Infrastructure: Wastage of cubic space of the warehouse for lack of

appropriate infrastructure. lack or insufficiency of appropriate equiment for

material handling. The loads poorly stacked which generate stability

problems that can cause accidents.

Drawbacks in the process of storageInformation• Lack of behavior’s analysis and product characteristics to define appropriate criteria for storage.• No control of products that have low rotation or they are not detected before to expire.

Information Systems• The location information of the products are usually managed by operators. Without them, the warehouse can not operate.• Lack of information systems that allow to properly manage the allocation of space in the warehouse and its optimization.• Lack of identification with barcode logistic units.

Best Practices for Storage Process

• Management of locations / positions in the warehouse.• Location of products according to the rotation. Zoning of the winery.•Identification with Barcode / RFID EPC and Automatic Information Capture. Real-time information. Stocktaking turnover FIFO (First In-First Out)• Information System WMS (Warehouse Management System).• Resources: Shelves and moving equipment and material handling
