This Museum is located in center city and has all kind of collectables from the Polish culture. It is in the heart of the cultural district and attracts thousands of people every year. They hold conferences and events here, as well as their normal tourist hours. They have all kinds of art from the past, about a thousand year’s back, and military artifacts. Stop #2: Krakus Market
My second stop on my Polish heritage tour is Krakus Market. Krakus Market claims to be the biggest Polish Market in the northeast United States. It all started in 1987 when it was just a small local Polish deli. In the 1960’s, Franciszek Gardyasz and son Zenon started Krakus Market with the recipes that they had brought from Poland. Zenon and his wife, Elzbieta, moved the deli to Port Richmond, which is heavily populated with Polish people. Their business was booming and by 1994 they had to move to a larger location. Luckily for the locals it only moved down the street. This new location was way bigger than the deli. They wanted to keep the same feel so they incorporated the deli in the back and they kept all the original recipes and techniques to keep everything as authentic as possible
