• Most parents have the best of intentions when raising their children. But they do not always make the best decisions.

• In reality, children do come with an “instruction manual”, and we need to use it (The Bible) (Ephesians 6:4; Titus 2:4)

Ephesians 6:4Ephesians 6:4And you, fathers, do not provoke your

children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Titus 2:3-5Titus 2:3-5The older women likewise, that they be

reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

Our Guidance On Morality & Ethics & Instead We Give Them Unrestricted Access To Immoral Entertainment – Entertainment always reflects the

(im)morality of the age!

Order & Stability In Their Lives & Instead We Give Them Chaos & Unpredictability. – " The most important thing a father can do

for his children is to love their mother.“ (Theodore Hesburgh)

Malachi 2:16Malachi 2:16“For the LORD God of Israel says that He

hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

In a divorce, it is the children who suffer most, all because of the sins of the parents.

Genesis 18:19Genesis 18:19For I have known him, in order that he may

command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.

(Parents must establish consistent and righteous standards for their children to follow)

this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

(A proper order in the home is important for children)

ConclusionConclusion• Our children need us, not the things

we can give them.• Children need parents who have the strength to

exercise consistent & reasonable discipline, regardless of the cost.

• Children need direction regarding morals. The must be instructed in righteousness and restricted from worldliness.

• Children need the security & growth environment which comes from orderliness in the home!
