Pastor’s Pondering…
I am sitting here in front of the computer with the
curser flashing at me. Yesterday, my father died. I am
having a hard time finding words to put together for an
article for the Newsletter; the newsletter must get done.
What to write about?
From the bookshelf I pulled out a book of poems by
Ann Weems. I love her writings. They can be a source of
inspiration and hope. I came across this one and it spoke
to me and my father’s faith.
It’s Still about Jesus
No matter how we dilute the word of God, It’s about Jesus. No matter how we cover the dangerous Truth of the gospel. No matter how we pretty up the story, It’s about Jesus. No matter how many times we go to our national assemblies and vote, It is still about Jesus. No matter how many times we distract ourselves with and church work and the good ole Stewardship Campaign, It’s still about Jesus, Jesus, the Lamb of God, Jesus, the Light of the world, Jesus the Break of Life, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, Jesus the One chosen to bring good news to the poor, Jesus, the one sent to proclaim liberty to the captives and to set free the oppressed. Jesus is my shepherd…. I shall….I shall not want.

Pastor’s Pondering…
You have heard me say my Dad grew up Jewish. He married a faithful
Presbyterian. When I was in sixth grade he decided to be baptized and
commit himself to Christ Jesus. I am thankful that I got to witness his
baptism. No matter where he/we lived he was committed; serving as a
Deacon, Usher, Sunday School teacher, liturgist. He was one of my strongest
cheerleaders. Now, I can in confidence say his baptismal vows are complete.
Peace and Grace,
Pastor Libby Moses

Ruling Elders
on the Session
The Pastor and the spiritual leaders place a priority on visiting hospitalized members of the congregation. While Samaritan Medical Center Chaplain calls when he knows someone from Stone Presbyterian Church is in this facility, as a general rule hospitals no longer provide information on admissions and dismissals. Please notify the church office if someone you know should be visited in the hospital or while recovering at home or at a care center. Also, if you or someone you know would enjoy a visit from Pastor Libby or a Ruling Elder, or would appreciate receiving communion at home, please phone the church office (788-5630),
e-mail the church office ([email protected]),
or place a note in the collection plate on Sunday.
