STMS Configuration document. STMS configuration between 3 system landscape. DEV – PD1 QA – UQ1 PRD – UP1 DEV – PD1 – IP address – 10.0.1.19 – system nr -00 – hostname – PD1IX100 QA – UQ1 – IP address – 10.0.1.15 – system nr -78 – hostname – UQ1IX100 PRD – UP1 – IP address – 10.0.1.9 – system nr – 00 – hostname – UP1IX100 We will be making Dev (PD1) as the domain controller (Owner of the transport directory) Make sure all the 3 servers are able to ping each other using IP address & hostnames. Login to Putty to each server and ping by hostname and IP address.

Not able to ping UQ1IX100On the same server under /etc folder as rootVi hosts file.

Added entries for UQ1IX100 & UP1IX100 in the hostfile of the PD1 server.

Same way login UQ1IX100

Make entries in the hostfile of the server as user root.

Login to UP1IX100

After the above steps all the 3 systems are ping able using the hostname and IP addresses.We will making PD1 as the domain controller.Login to PD1IX100 and using yast command share the /usr/sap/trans directory.Once complete Login to PD1 using SAPGUI to client 000 to configure STMS.

For doing STMS configuration go to tcode STMS.

Click on the save button.

Click on the 4th icon from the left system overview

Right now you have only one system in the domain. Now lets include the other 2 systems in the domain.Login to UQ1 using sapgui to client 000.

Before doing the stms configuration on UQ1.Login to UQ1IX100 server using putty and mount the /usr/sap/trans directory from PD1IX100 which is the domain controller.The local /usr/sap/trans directory must be renamed and empty trans directory should be created and give 775 permissions.As shown below

Click on the save icon.

Once you get the above message.Login to domain controller (PD1) client 000 go to STMS systems overview

Click on approve.

Click yes.

UQ1 system is successfully added to the domain controller.Now we need to add UP1 system to the domain controller.Login UP1 system using SAPGUI client 000.

Mount the trans directory from domain controller.

Once mounted login to UP1 using SAPGUI in client 000

Go to STMS

Login to the domain controller and approve UP1 system.

Click on approve.

Click yes.Once the above step Is completed UP1 is successfully included in the domain.Now if you see the system overview in STMS tcode you should see 3 systems in active status.

Now we need to configure the transport routes.From PD1 UQ1 UP1.For configuring transport route you have to be in PD1 in client 000 Tcode STMS click on the 5th icon which is the transport routes

Click on the transport routes.

Click the 2nd Icon which the change mode icon.Once you click on the change mode make sure you see the following message on the bottom the screen.

Click on Three systems in Group

3 system transport route has been configured.
