If you were to come here with another adult and a child, it would cost $229. Depending on how old your child is, discounts may be applied. Culture • The two languages spoken here is Dutch & English. • One can choose to wear the latest fashions but jeans, shorts,

polos, tees, sandals, sneakers and boat shoes. While swimwear is perfect for the beach, it is not considered proper in town. In the evenings, women tend to dress up a bit but, for the men, ties and jackets are rarely seen. • The famous art museum here is the Roland Richardson Art Gallery.

• The most famous string band on Sint Maarten is “Tanny and the Boys” . The group of golden age musicians play festive music rooted in St Maarten. They play at house parties, dances, anniversaries and formal receptions throughout the Caribbean, the Netherlands and Germany. The band has entertained various personalities from Lieutenant Governors, Mayors and even for Queen Beatrix of the Dutch Kingdom.

Restaurant/Food• The famous 5 star restaurant is Le Santal. The

cuisine is decidedly French, from appetizers such as lobster bisque, foie gras terrine and caviar with vodka, chateaubriand for two, Provençal style prawns, scallops, and roasted lobster with champagne sabayon. This restaurant has light dessert soufflés, crème brûlée, and crepes Suzette. This is the perfect place to impress a date or celebrate an anniversary.

• Some of the famous local foods is the traditional French and spicy West Indian Créole. Many of the restaurants, which are inexpensive to trés cher, combine the best of both. Fresh seafood appears on virtually all menus and sometimes prepared in Créole style with spices. Local rum drinks often precede a meal and fine French wines provide the perfect accompaniment.
