Stickers• During rounds every baby that has a sticker should have the
central line addressed.• Examples
• Baby A has a UVC that has been in for 3 days, we will need the UVC for IV access
• Baby B has a UVC that has been in for 6 days and is now yellow, we still need the UVC for tpn and have not reached 120mL/kg/day because of feeding intolerance
• Baby C has a PICC that has been in for 37 days and is now purple, but had no enteral feeds due to esophageal atresia.
• Sticker color should be a macroscopic view of how long a central line has been in and give awareness not only to the day team but cross-covering teams when they need quick information on access.
