Inside Story Headline

Meet ASID/IIDA Student President– Kaitlyn Bethany Q: What is ASID/IIDA?

A: American Society of Interior Designers/International Interior Design Associates.

Q: How did this get started?

It’s a professional organization. We are one of the Student Chapters. It introduces us to new and upcoming

products as well as professionals in the industry.

Q: What are your duties as President?

I deal with all the upcoming events in Interior Design and deal with most school functions, such as Cinco De Mayo Bingo.

Q:What Events are coming up for you guys?

Neocon is a huge event coming up. Students go up to Chicago.

We see different companies, get samples of paint decks, and more. You

literally need a suitcase to be able to carry everything you get at the

event.

Q:What got you started in Interior Design?

I would have to say my mom. We were always moving and always arranging.

I loved it and turned my passion into a hobby and turned my hobby into a

career.

Q:What is your interior style?

I’m always evolving so I would consider it eclectic because its ever changing.

I love eclectic and affordable styles.

Q: What are your plans after Graduation

My plans are to set up my blog, Styling a Life A-Z. I am also hoping to go into

residential and organization design.

Hey Guys! It is May and you know

what that means. Yes, I know we all dislike finals, but they are

coming. Here are a few tips on

how to pass.

1.Experiement with Different

forms of Studying Not everyone studies the same so find a

method that works for you.

2. Stay Active Did you

know exercising releases

more blood to the brain,

allowing it to have more energy to retain more infor-

mation.

3.Flash Cards Flash Cards are a simple and easy way to learn all

the material. Mix them up be-

cause most likely the questions

will not be in order come finals

day.

4.Visualize If you are a visual

learner like me, then this method will surely work for you. Creating

a mind map of your study guide

makes your studying a little easier

by helping visualize the concepts

and how they are related to eachother.

5. Last but not least, At-

tend your Reviews People.

Do not miss final review

day. Your teacher goes over

the structure of the test and possibly some questions

that will be on it so you

don’t want to miss it.
