Steve Frank His background in the green industry began as a territory and branch manager with Barefoot Grass, Inc., then the second largest landscape services company in the U.S. He moved into management positions with Lesco, Inc., the leading lawn, tree care and pest control supplier in the nation at the time and later spent ten years as Landscape Services Coordinator for Michigan State University and four years at The University of Chicago as the Landscape Services Supervisor, responsible for in-house and contracted grounds maintenance and enhancement, Motor Pool operations, and aspects of Recycling and Waste Management prior to joining Curbco, Inc. as General Manager, overseeing all exterior maintenance and construction divisional operations. Currently he is creating an internal Landscape Services department at Jackson National Life Insurance Company. Prior experience includes business consulting and operations work with Designers Choice Landscape, a Greenskeeper position with Lake O’ the Hills Golf Club, investment advisement and sales as a Registered Representative with First Investors Corporation, General Manager at AMC Entertainment and an internship with The Walt Disney Company. Steve is a past President of the Capital Area Landscape & Nursery Association in Lansing, MI; served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association; was a Legislative Representative with the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association and is a member of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS), Sports Turf Managers Association, Illinois Professional Lawn Care Association and the Midwest Ecological Landscape Association. He also has served on the Sustainability Council at The University of Chicago and the Committee for a Sustainable Campus at Michigan State. In addition, he was a Community Development Vice President with the United States Jaycees. He was presented the PLANET (Professional Land Care Network) Environmental Improvement and PGMS GreenStar Grand Awards while at the University of Chicago. He is a past winner of a Campus Sustainable Leadership Award from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and a PGMS GreenStar Honor Award at Michigan State. Steve attended Lansing Community College, earning an A.A. in Business with additional studies in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. He holds a B.B.A. in Management and Marketing from Northwood University and advanced degree work at Florida International University in International Business and the M.B.A. program at Kennesaw State University.
