I set budget targets and ensure that the targets are met, and meet with customers and prospective customers to ascertain their needs and ensure that they are met. I manage a portfolio of many companies offering advice, consultancy and training on all matters of occupational safety and health. This includes policy development, risk profiling and risk management, measuring health and safety performance by using active and pro-active means; audits and inspections and accident, incident and near miss investigations. 1

Employment History

2013-Present. GTG – Health & Safety Manager

As the Health & safety Manager I am the lead Advisor and Auditor and lead Trainer which means I am responsible for and manage a team of Safety Advisors and Health & Safety Trainers. I set budget targets and ensure that the targets are met, and meet with customers and prospective customers to ascertain their needs and ensure that they are met.I manage a portfolio of many companies offering advice, consultancy and training on all matters of occupational safety and health. This includes policy development, risk profiling and risk management, measuring health and safety performance by using active and pro-active means; audits and inspections and accident, incident and near miss investigations.I also manage and participate in training NEBOSH, IOSH, British Safety Council, ROLLO, CSCS as well as subject matter courses, including noise, HAVS, Managing H&S Etc. My role means that I am involved in training development and training the trainers.

2007- 2013. Scottish Power- Energy Networks

Working on isolated plant and assisting in live work on low voltage and high voltage electrical networks and installations. As an active Safety Representative I was a member of various health and safety advisory committees conducting inspections and offering health and safety advice to my constituents.

Working on isolated plant and assisting in live work on the low voltage and high voltage network on underground cables up to 33KV.HV polymeric Cable Jointer. Making of polymeric cable joints and terminating the cables into substation plant that are not connected to the electrical network.
