Field Service Representative: key roles included maintaining radiation scanner equipment across multiple sites in Afghanistan (10 months spent in Kandahar and 10 months spent in Baghdad). Training ISAF operators/military personnel when needed, controlling Profit and Loss costs associated with office/living/and transportation. Installation of new equipment as well as redeployment movement of systems were necessary. Obtaining local/international vendors to help with supplies and services needed throughout the contract periods.

Primary objectives were maintaining sites via Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Site inspections on HVAC systems, equipment generators, radiation equipment, calibrating systems efficiency via software, and conducting radiation surveys. All equipment had available optional access for remote operation capabilities meaning installing/maintaining multiple coax, CAT5/fiber optic cabling/converters as well as computer/hardware upkeep for equipment operations. Services also included CCTV, electronic door locks, and intercom equipment to be installed and maintained allowing remote operations to function.

Logistical duties included but were not limited to maintaining FMC/PMC status and logging daily updates of over 100 systems, moving personnel to sites with needs and scheduling inbound/outbound personnel, ordering parts to fix equipment while maintaining storage locations across the Middle East, maintaining inventory control of parts via system manufacturers and local/international vendors. Logistical needs were also established and worked for housing, vehicle maintenance, and daily needs of personnel while in theatre.

Logistical parts needs consisted of maintaining storage locations on site (DOD, FMS, NATO) with an estimated total of $2 million of parts on hand keeping systems operational on a 24-hour basis via database software. Maintaining storage locations consisted of usage reports via Service Reports, min/max markers, parts request submittals, weekly/monthly inventories, shipping/receiving tracking/updating of parts, and random site inspections.

Logistical tool needs consisted of maintaining tracking of personnel tools issued, replaced, and reissued for 10 personnel at all locations so equipment services could be completed successfully and efficiently reducing downtime of equipment.

Systems on sites included ZBVs (Portable Truck Scanners utilizing Backscatter (Bx) technology with optional Forwardscatter (Fx) trailer hookups), SmartChecks (Personnel Scanner utilizing Bx technology), Gemini’s (Utilizing both Bx and Transmission (Tx) technology), Z-Portals (three sided Truck Scanner utilizing Bx technology), and SIM S/HT (Single/Dual Sided Personnel Scanner utilizing Bx technology w/h HT.

Daily activities included not limited to reviewing daily reports from all programs, providing customer updates on conference calls, advising PMs of tasking objectives, filling staffing needs, organizing logistical needs for personnel, maintaining company objectives, and adhering to customer focused needs.

Daily activities included but were not limited to 24/7/365 Customer/Equipment support maintained at/or above 90% UTA, parts inventory stock/order/replenish, attending/coordinating meetings with various base personnel, as well as schedule/maintain PM tasks on equipment coordinated with base FP.

• Establishes, maintains and operates communications systems. Assists in preparation of computer center for operation and shutdown. Prepares field artillery tactical data systems for operation to include cabling, installation, and removal procedures. Inputs initialization data and data base information to field artillery tactical data systems. Maintain fire capabilities maps and charts. Operates and performs operator maintenance on field artillery tactical data systems equipment, section vehicles and generators associated with field artillery tactical data systems. Performs crew maintenance and participates in organizational maintenance of section equipment.

Additional Duties include:

• Additional Duty Safety NCO: The ADSO/NCO assists the commander with safety responsibilities when there is no assigned safety officer (SO) by table of organization and equipment or table of distribution and allowances. This pamphlet provides guidance in applying policies and procedures and necessary information for managing a unit safety program. Separate chapters discuss how to establish and maintain a unit safety program, apply the risk management (RM) process, conduct safety surveys, report and investigate accidents, ensure safety in tactical operations, and promote safety in garrison and off-duty activities, including privately owned vehicle (POV) and privately owned motorcycle (POM) accident prevention. Aviation-specific safety requirements and guidance are contained in Army Regulations 385-10 and Department of the Army Pam 385-90. The ultimate safety responsibility for preserving human and material resources rests with the commander.

• Unit Prevention Leader: The primary mission of assisting the commander in planning, implementing, and executing an outstanding unit level substance abuse program. This role must go beyond the execution of the

unit level urinalysis program. While the UA is a vital part of the overall program and your role is critical to its success, there are many other aspects of your mission as UPL.

• Unit training NCO: Provide supervision over unit's training requirements to enhance the unit's readiness. Responsible for monitoring non MOSQ Soldiers and submitting individual training requirements. Forecast and coordinate school seats via ATRRS. Develop and publish unit training calendar and schedules, forecast ammo requirements. Forecast and secure training resources to include training site. Responsible for updating and maintaining the unit mobilization files. Coordinate, compile and produces the Unit Status Report (USR) and Commanders Training Assessment (CTA). Position requires knowledge of the Automated Fund Control Orders System (AFCOS), Defense Travel Management System (DTMS, Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS) and a basic understanding of Microsoft based programs. Perform other duties as assigned.

o Maintains all training support materials. Prepares materials for advising the unit commander on unit mobilization posture and requirements. Provides the information required for the unit status report. Attends all unit training assemblies, and annual training periods providing assistance and guidance in the preparation for and execution of unit training. Conducts preparatory visits as required to training sites to ensure availability of and to procure required training areas, range, and training equipment. Maintains the unit MOS qualification-training program.

o Advises and assists the Company Operations Readiness NCO on military education requirements and forwards applications for Army Service schools. Assists in planning, updating and executing unit mobilization plans and loading plans, and unit supply planning. Attends schools and conferences as required by training, development and military education requirements. Become familiar with, operates and obtain passwords for RLAS, ATRRS, ITRS, TAMIS and any other training/training support systems or future systems that comes on line.

• Equal Opportunity Representative: EO Representatives (EORs) assists commanders at battalion level or equivalent and below in carrying out the EO program within their units. An EOR are tasked to perform EO duties as an additional duty. In addition, the unit EOR assumes a special relationship with the chain of command and the NCO support channel. Soldiers who are appointed as unit EORs receive training on a variety of EO subjects, and can advise and assist unit leaders in carrying out their EO responsibilities. Typical roles and duties of an EOR include the following.

o Assist the commander in recognizing detractors from a healthy EO climate. Assist the commander in conducting unit climate assessments.

o Prepare and assist the commander in conducting EO training. Establish and maintain liaison with other EORs and the EOA at higher headquarters.

o Assist the commander and assigned project officers in preparing and conducting ethnic observances and special commemorations.

o Refer complainant to appropriate agency for assistance.o EOR do not receive or process complaints. o Serve as a resource person for EO matters in the unit. o Assist complainants by referring them to an appropriate agency for assistance. o Complaints referred to another agency will be reported to the EOA.

• Instructor: A Field Artillery Instructor will instruct on the technical aspects of the equipment and facilities required to conduct Field Artillery training, to include the task lists for the operation and maintenance of MOS specific equipment.  Instructors will evaluate students’ duty performance and certify their competence of the skills instructed within the course utilizing prescribed evaluation methods and performing analysis of training effectiveness. Instructors also will review and recommend acceptance or revisions of a variety of publications pertaining to Field Artillery MOS training.

1991-1995 Corrections Specialist (Camp Pendleton, CA, Camp Hanson, Okinawa Japan)

• Corrections Specialist: Correctional specialists guard and provide 24-hour supervision of the daily activities of confined and restrained personnel at Naval Brigs and Correctional Custody Units to prevent disturbances and escapes. Correctional specialists perform routine inspections, process personnel for confinement and release; transport prisoners, absentees and deserters; manage prisoner's funds and personal property; observe and report meaningful changes in prisoner behavior; and report infractions of the unit's regulations. Corrections specialist also provide commanders with the mission of Regional Detention Facilities in theater with subject matter expertise on the safe, humane and efficient care of enemy detainees entrusted to their care.
