Morgan Goodwin AchesonMorgan Goodwin Acheson was born during a heat wave in July 1981. She grew up in Ivoryton, Connecticut with her sister and artist parents. She has studied metals and jewelry and photography at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia and illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York City where she accepted her BFA in spring 2008. Morgan resides in Brooklyn with a voluptuous cat named Alice, a skinny cat named June and two rescue dogs named Olive and Harvey. She has had her work published in Germany and shown in galleries throughout New York City and Brooklyn.

Chris GallChris Gall was caught doodling on his desk in second grade and his teacher suggested that he may become an artist someday, but then made him clean all the desks in the classroom. Chris is now an award-winning, internationally recognized illustrator. His artwork has been shown in almost every publication in America, including Time, Newsweek, People, Fortune, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. In 2004, his first picture book, America the Beautiful, became a Publishers Weekly Best Children’s Book of the Year, and his career in children’s publishing began. Since then he has authored and illustrated six more books, including the acclaimed Dinotrux, a 2009 Publishers Weekly Best Children’s book; Revenge of the Dinotrux; Awesome Dawson; Substitute Creacher; Dear Fish; and There’s Nothing to Do on Mars. Chris has also worked as an adjunct professor of art at the University of Arizona and spent four years as a professional stand-up comedian. He currently lives in Tucson, Arizona, where in his spare time he loves to restore classic cars and fly planes.

David GoldinDavid Goldin received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. A left-handed accordion enthusiast and international junk collector, Goldin has worked for R.O. Blechman at the Ink Tank, an animation studio, while also working for Steven Heller at the New York Times Book Review and Tomi Ungerer as an assistant. He is a self-proclaimed magazine brat, illustrator, author and artist, recently writing and illustrating a children’s book about how art museums work, entitled Meet Me at the Art Museum: A Whimsical Look Behind the Scenes (Abrams, 2012) and has a new picture book project underway with Viking. Much of his work has exaggerated body proportions, whimsical facial expressions and is designed on found objects and creatively repurposed materials. These dynamic pieces are full of movement, capturing innocence and calling for play. The most recent exhibitions of Goldin’s work include: Onishi Gallery Chelsea, NYC (2013), WFG Gallery and Woodstocks Artistis Guild, Woodstock, NY (2012) and Liloveve Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2010). Goldin lives and works in Woodstock, NY.

Joyce HesselberthJoyce Hesselberth’s illustrations have appeared in national ad campaigns, theater productions, and numerous major newspapers and magazines. She also illustrates children’s books and recently launched her first children’s educational app, PrestoBingo Shapes, which teaches kids to identify basic geometry. Her work has been recognized by American Illustration, Society of Illustrators, and the Art Directors’ Club of New York among others. She and her husband David Plunkert co-founded Spur Design in 1995. Spur Design is located in a renovated factory building in Baltimore, MD. Joyce also teaches Illustration at Maryland Institute College of Art. Her first authored and illustrated picture book will be publishing in 2015 with Henry Holt.

T. LivelyT. Lively is a painter and a storyteller at heart. Rembrandt with a funny bone best describes his work as an illustrator. Classically trained in the dutch-flemish approach of Rembrandt, he blends both whimsy and representational art into one. T. Lively works in editorial illustration as well illustrating and writing his own children’s book. He recently illustrated his third picture book, The Boy and the Ocean, written by the great Max Lucado. He is married to his ultimate heroine Kristi Fluharty. Their first book together, Foolmoon Rising, can be seen at foolmoonrising.com. They have five beautiful daughters and a dog named Cash.

Mike MoranMike Moran is an illustrator who has worked for some really fun clients throughout the years. He worked on the Major League Baseball 2008 World Series and Playoff programs. Since each program goes in the Baseball Hall of Fame, he likes to say that in a roundabout way he’s in the Baseball Hall of Fame too! Deborah Kogan RayDeborah Kogan Ray studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her paintings and prints of landscape and nature subjects have been exhibited in 42 one-person shows and hundreds of group exhibitions in museums and galleries. They are in private and public collections throughout the world. Honors for her work include the ‘Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant for Painting’ and the ‘Drexel Citation for Career Distinction in the Field of Books for Children’. In her career in the field of books for children, she has illustrated seventy-five books: nineteen of which she wrote as well as illustrated. She describes her recent self-authored illustrated biographies as being about “people who should be better known”. Deborah’s books have been chosen as Junior Library Guild Selections, and featured on C-span Book-TV, and PBS Reading Rainbow. They have been named ‘Best Books’ by the International Reading Association (IRA), Children’s Book Council (CBC), Parents Choice, Bank Street College, the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC), National Council of Social Studies (NCSS), the National Teachers of Science Association (NSTA), as well as state library and reading associations.

Sergio RuzzierSergio Ruzzier is a picture book author and illustrator. He was born in Milan, Italy, in 1966, and began his career as an illustrator in his early twenties. In 1995 he moved to New York City, where he’s been creating pictures and stories for national and international magazines and book publishers. His work has been awarded by American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, and The Society of Publication Designers. He won the Parents’ Choice Gold Medal for The Room of Wonders and for his illustrations for Why Mole Shouted. He was a recipient of the 2011 Sendak Fellowship.

Peter SpierPeter Spier arrived to the US in 1952, and since then has become one of this country’s most popular and renowned illustrators. His Noah’s Ark was the 1978 Caldecott Medal winner, while The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night was a Caldecott Honor Book in 1962. He has won other prestigious awards such as the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards, the American Book Award, and the Christopher Award. Born and educated in Amsterdam, Peter Spier has illustrated over a hundred books and has contributed a series of murals to the H.F. Du Pont Winterthur Museum in Delaware. His books have been published in 24 languages and most recently, a handful were released as electronic editions. He resides on Long Island with his beautiful wife where, in addition to illustrating, he builds ship models.

John WoolleyJohn Woolley began showing his artwork four years ago at 10 years old. He has been fortunate enough to sell his work worldwide through a variety of sources. Artist/Actress Jane Seymour, Film Producer Peter Rosenthal, Pop Artist Ed Heck of Disney, Rock Drummer Carmine Appice, and children’s book cover artist Maria Madonna Davidoff are among the numerous collectors of John Woolley’s art. He was one of the featured artists in the 2010 New York Artexpo Magazine along with Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood, Justin Bua, and Zoe Yin. He has also been named an “Artist to Watch” by Art Business News.
