My role as Senior Construction Manager involved working with the Design & Assurance teams to ensure the project progresses through the various RIBA stages & that all necessary approvals are in place prior to agreeing the Project Target Cost. Once the project is released for construction Stephen was responsible for the day to day management of the site managers and the multi disciplinary sub contractors which included establishing the construction sequence & programme, co-ordinating the day & night shifts to ensure that all problems/ issues are communicated & resolved, implementing H&S initiatives, audits, updating the Health & Safety Plan & monitoring of work against the various H&S procedures. Stephen was responsible for liaising with various sections of Metronet & London Underground that were involved in both the daily operations of an underground station to ensure that the station safety & security were not compromised due to construction works and the final handover procedures & assurance of the completed works. Stephen was also involved in resolving issues regarding Section 61, Planning & Building Control, changes to Fire plans & Procedures.
