South right side: three receptacles on one circuit, 20 amps.

Yellow Barn Sheds and Courtyard: North Shed (total of 60 amps): one receptacle by small doorway, closest to the barn, 20 amps; (two) double receptacles on far side, 20 amps each (40 amps total).

South Shed (20 amps total): one receptacle at end, near gun shop, 20 amps.

Firehouse: includes air conditioning and heat (total of 100 amps) Outside: north, and south sides of building, 20 amps each.

Inside: all walls are on the same circuit for a total of 20 amps.

Floor has four receptacles on (two) 20 amps circuits.

Landis Valley House Hotel/Tavern: includes air conditioning and heat (total of 60 amps) Offers full kitchen with electrical outlets, one electrical outlet in card room, one behind the bar on the fl oor, and one outlet behind folding doors.

Millstone Grove: (total of 75 amps) Outside by iron gate: 15 amps. Landis House outside lights must be on for this receptacle to work.

Three receptacles in the grove: 20 amps each (next to black walnut and gingko trees and in the center).

Visitor Center and Grounds: includes air conditioning and heat (total of 400 amps) These locations feature many receptacles inside with two receptacles at 20 amps each outside.

It is 2.5 miles northeast of Lancaster, conveniently located on Route 272 (Oregon Pike), near clearly marked exits from Routes 30 and 222, and is only minutes away from the railroad, bus station and airport. Museum & Village

Rent a piece of history!Select any four of the following historic buildings near the Yellow Barn Courtyard, complete with costumed interpretation and demonstrations (additional fees apply): • textile processing in the Textile Gallery • crafting fi rearms in the Gun Shop • cooking historic recipes in the Tavern • traditional Pennsylvania German craft in the Erisman House Other demonstrations and buildings available: • operation of the Country Store, Pottery Shop, Tin Shop, and Blacksmith Shop • storytelling in the Landis Valley House Hotel • an 1890s lesson in the one-room schoolhouse

Horse-drawn Wagon Ride (seats 18) or Horse-drawn Carriage Ride (seats 5) with our own Belgian, Percheron, or Clydesdale Draft horses. Your guests and party may be picked up from the parking lot and taken to the reception. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic ride around the grounds. Fee.

Historic Children’s Games are available for corporate picnics. Games include: Town Ball • Hoop and Stick • Scavenger Hunt • and more! Fee.

Rental InformationIncluded in your rental fee: • 280 space parking lot (usually exclusive use) • restrooms located closest to your rental building • attendant provided during your function • water/electric/heat/air conditioning (where applicable) • exterior lighting • staff coordination of table, chair, and tent rental; and other rental items you may require

A safe and private environment is provided for your function. If an event is held during regular operating hours, then only the area being used will be private. You may select your own caterer and alcoholic beverages are permitted, after 5 p.m.

Trash removal: All trash must be put in bags provided by Landis Valley Museum & Village. The rental space must be clean and free of all trash. A rental attendant will assist you with trash clean-up and removal.

Insurance: You must provide proof of insurance.

The Yellow Barn was built in 1939 with timber framing from the earlier 1814 Brick Farmstead barn.

This historic building was the fi rst one George and Henry Landis used to house their museum exhibits.

With a capacity of 225 people in 2,880 sq. ft., the Yellow Barn is perfect for wedding receptions, family reunions, dances, socials or any other event you can imagine.

The Yellow Barn is beautifully decorated with hun-dreds of white twinkle lights laced around the wooden columns and draped across the ceiling beams giving it a warm and elegant glow. Just imagine arriving at this scene in a horse-drawn carriage. What a memorable experience!

The rental of the Yellow Barn includes two large covered implement sheds that are ideal for your buffet. You also get a beautiful outdoor 3,500 sq. ft. courtyard. This is a perfect location for your ceremony and cocktail reception.

Heated in the winter, the barn is available year-round for events from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Landis Valley House Hotel was built in 1856 and is an original building from the valley’s Victorian era. Still standing in its original location at the intersection of Reading Road and Kissel Hill Road, it served both local patrons and travelers. The hotel was used as the Landis Valley Post Offi ce from 1872 to 1913, and up until the late 1960s still operated as a popular local bar and restaurant.

This is the perfect setting for a more intimate gather-ing such as anniversary parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners or luncheons. The hotel has a bar room, dining room and card room for a total of 832 square feet and can accommodate up to 65 people. It is also equipped with a professional kitchen.

Heated and air conditioned, the Landis Valley House Hotel is available year-round during daytime hours and after hours from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Firehouse is a replica of an early rural fi rehouse. The building consists of one large room with wooden fl oors and a smaller back room for food handling with a large refrigeration unit—a total of 1,258 sq. ft. for both rooms. It boasts an electronically opened viewing screen for all types of presentations.

This is the perfect place for corporate training sessions, offi ce parties, and smaller weddings with a capacity of up to 100 people. This building is available daytime and evening hours.

The Visitor Center was built in 1969 to resemble an eighteenth-century market house and offers a gallery and an auditorium.

The gallery is a welcoming space complete with a fi replace and historic exhibits. This cozy room has a capac-ity of 50 to 75 people and would be the perfect place for a cocktail reception before your meeting in the auditorium.

A great place for corporate meetings or training, the auditorium holds up to 100 people. A large screen and state-of-the-art projection equipment are available to as-sist you with your presentations.

The gallery and auditorium are available from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and during limited off-season daytime hours.

Millstone Grove, in the center of the village, is an open area surrounded by historic buildings and large shade trees. This is a beautiful place for a large outdoor wedding ceremony or corporate picnic. This location accommodates a tent up to 40 ft. by 120 ft. that will house up to 384 people. It is available year-round.

The Visitor Center Grounds is a large, grassy area next to the Visitor Center and the ideal place for your wed-ding or corporate picnic. This location is large enough to accommodate a 40 ft. by 180 ft. tent for up to 500 people.

Landis Valley Museum & Village

A living history museum, Landis Valley is a nineteenth-century Pennsylvania German crossroads village. The site includes historic buildings and barns set on over 100 acres of trees, gardens and working farms, with animals whose lineage goes back centuries. It’s a superb and serene envi-ronment for any group event.

For businesses and corporations, the Landis Valley House Hotel or the Visitor Center offers a superior venue for meetings, workshops, interviews or for rewarding out-standing employees.

For groups and families, the Museum offers the Yellow Barn for reunions, dances, parties, picnics and more.

For weddings, it’s the perfect place for photographs of your memorable occasion. Arrive at your event in a horse-drawn carriage, then entertain your guests in the Yellow Barn.
