Ralph’s history is unique. He has threestepmothers and they have starkly differentpersonalities. He has confusing weeklyschedule whether to be at his dad’s or mum’s

house, but he copes very well with thedifferent stepmothers.

Annabel is stepmother number one. Theproblem is she is always around for trips,

shopping, mealtimes and every televisionprogram me. She is always on a diet and isvery careful about what she eats.



Annabel believes that everyone has anaura around his or her head and insists on

baking her own bread as she thinks shopbread is full of chemicals. Ralph and hisbrothers do not miss Annabel when herrelationship with her stepfather fails.

Janet, his stepmother number two, isobsessed with rules. She has rules foreverything that the children feel stiftled.

but Ralph’s thinks she organised andsensible.



Flora, stepmother number three, is young

and sporting . Once she takes him out towatch a film and goes for a drink at thecoffee bar. Flora is pregnant and Ralph isexcited about his baby sister. He reads

up books on babies. He helps her sort outof the baby clothes and the toys. He ishappy that Flora will settle down and hewill not have another stepmother to worryabout.

Ralph had a complicated family life. His first stepmother, Annabel, was unpopular

because she never left him and his two brothers

organized that both his parents loves her. Ralphand his brothers, however, hated her because of allthe rules she imposed. Ralph also dislike sharing

his house with Janet‟s four children. Ralph adored Flora, his dad‟s new pregnant

girlfriend. He hoped Flora would stay on as hisstepmother.



RALPH

- He was able to get along with hisstepmothers and was very responsible.

RALPH’S DAD

- He was spineless, self-centred andalways falling in and out of love.

- He took advantage of Janet.- He was irresponsible and often left his

son in the care of their stepmothers.



RALPH’S MUM

- She was a very outspoken and frank person. She told her ex-husband exactly what she felt.

- She was sneaky and took advantage of Janet „s efficiency.

ANNABEL

- Ralph „s stepmother Number One.

- She was selfish and did not let her husband spend time alone withhis sons.

- She wanted everything to be done her away.

JANET

- Ralph‟s stepmother Number Two. - She was very efficient ,organised and had rules for everything.

- She was not popular with her stepsons.



- Ralph’s stepmother Number Three. - She was disorganized and not very

responsible.

- She got on well with her stepsons, especially

Ralph, who adored her.

Ralph’s stepfather - He got along with his stepsons, and was

sensible and fair.



Extended families

- Ralph came from a large extended

family. Therefore,he had to getused to living with many differentpeople and also had to keep track

of which house he was supposed togo to each day. Although this wasconfusing, Ralph seemed to cope

very well.



Adapting to new situations

- Ralph had three different

stepmothers and a stepfather, so hehad to adjust quickly to newsituations and learn to get along

with others. Being tolerant helpedhim with this adjustment.
