First, make sure you have all the parts and tools required to install your shades .
ALL THE HARDWARE YOU’LL NEED:
Pencil, screw-driver, ¼” nut driver, level, and a drill with a 1⁄16” drill bit .
Then fi nd wooden studs where you’ll want to att ach the brackets; if you need to mount your shades
to wallboard or plaster, use a secure fastener designed for hollow wall applicati ons . For metal
surfaces, pre-drill holes and use the included screws . For concrete, stone, brick, or ti le surfaces, use
a masonry drill and appropriate plugs, anchors, or screws .
It’s important when selecti ng a fastener to make sure it’s designed to support the weight of the
shade . Follow the fastener manufacturer’s instructi on from there on out .

Inside Mount
The installation brackets are always mounted so that the short legs face in . Brackets must be in line and level . Shim brackets on inside mounts if necessary . The roller must be level for the shade to operate properly .
Attach each bracket using two screws either up through the top (A) or through the side (B) .
Inside Mount No Headrail with Bracket Covers
Place the brackets 1 ⁄16" from the window casing . This will create a gap for the bracket cover .
Attach each bracket using two through the top holes . Do not use side holes.
Outside Mount
The installation brackets are always mounted so that the short legs face in . Brackets must be in line and level . The roller must be level for the shade to operate properly .
First, hold the shade above the window so that it's perfectly centered over the window opening at the desired height . Mark the position of the brackets on the wall . Mount the brackets to the wall . Make sure the mounting brackets are level .
STEP 2 — MOUNTING BRACKETS
Hanging Shades without Headrail
Once the brackets are secured and level, the fabric roll can be inserted . Make sure your hands are clean to avoid soiling the shade . Be sure the motor and roller end plug are inserted into the roller .
Hold the shade with the bottom of the motor facing the floor . Be sure the shade is fully rolled on the tube .
Insert the spring loaded pin end into the round hole of the bracket .
Push the motor end toward the pin end to compress the spring . The pin should compress half way in for best fit . Line up the hooks on the motor with the two slots in the bracket . Allow the spring to release and let the hooks go into the slots .
Once the two hooks are through the slots, gently pull down on the motor until the hooks lock securely to the bracket .
Bracket CoversBracket covers come standard for outside mount shades and if requested for some non-flush inside mounted shades . If your shade came with bracket covers, slide or snap the bracket covers into place over the bracket .

Inside MountCenter the shade in the window frame . Mark the positi on of the brackets . End brackets should be located 2" in from each end . Mount the brackets to the top of the window frame . Make sure the brackets are aligned . Space additi onal brackets evenly between two end brackets .

Side Mount(Optional) Measure from window sill up to desired mounting position . Mount Side Mount Brackets on each side of window frame as shown . Make sure to confirm that headrail will sit perfectly level . Once Side Mount Brackets are installed and properly positioned, attach the Standard Mounting Brackets using the nuts and bolts provided .

Outside Mount
First, hold the shade above the window so that it’s perfectly centered over the window opening at the desired height . Mark the position of the bracket on the wall . Extension Brackets(Optional) Optional Extension Brackets are used to project the back of the shade up to 21⁄2" from the mounting surface . Attach the Standard Mounting Bracket to the Extension Bracket with the nut and bolt provided .
Spacer Blocks (Optional) Each spacer block projects brackets 3/8" away from mounting surface . Position spacer block behind mounting bracket, make sure the brackets are level and aligned . Attach each bracket using two screws . Screws should be long enough to secure the bracket to the mounting surface .

Insert the rail into the opening of the bracket . Push the rail back until it is fully engaged .
Removing the Shade
To remove the shade, partially lower the shade and insert a flat head screwdriver as shown . Twist the screwdriver until the headrail disengages from the bracket .

Hanging the Shade

Attaching the Valance
Insert a valance clip into the bottom front keyhole slot of each bracket .
Press the bottom firmly to lock into place .
Hold the valance on the top of the bracket first, and rotate downward .
Press until the bottom hook feature on the valance engages and is locked to the valance clip .
Bracket Covers - Outside Mount
Press the covers onto the brackets as shown . Covers will snap in place .
Bracket Covers - Inside Mount
Peel adhesive backing and stick cover over exposed portion of installation bracket .

PAIRING THE REMOTEPAIRING THE REMOTE
Pair The Remote
1 . Select the channel that you want to pair the shades to, using the CHANNEL selector butt on . The butt on will scroll through channels in ascending order only . The remote will go back to channel 1 aft er channel 14 .
2 . Press the SETTING butt on on the motor unti l the shade jogs & beeps .
3 . Press and hold the CONFIRM butt on unti l the shade(s) jogs & beeps once . The shade is now paired to the remote .
4 . Repeat steps 1-3 to pair remaining shades to the rest of the channels .
For added protecti on, your remote control arrived with a protecti ve fi lm on top . Please remove this fi lm prior to use .
Your shades will need to be paired to the remote prior to operati ng your shade . See Pair the Remote below.
Pair The Remote
This remote control has 14 channels . Before pairing the remote, determine which shade(s) you want on which channel . All shades paired to a remote will also automati cally be programmed to the “ALL” channel .
If a batt ery is not already installed in the remote, follow the instructi ons REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE .

ADJUSTING SHADE LIMITS
Adjust Shade Limits (If Desired)
The lower and upper limits have been set at the factory . If you need to make adjustments to the limits, follow the instructi ons below .
Please Note: When clearing the factory set limits, both the upper and lower limits will need to be reset.
Use the CHANNEL butt ons to select the channel for the shade that needs to be adjusted . Then follow the directi ons below .
When adjusti ng one shade, the other shades on that channel need to be temporarily unpaired from the remote (see UNPAIRTHE REMOTE) or turn the motor off using the ON/OFF switch .
Follow the SETTING LIMITS instructi ons and then re-pair shades by following the steps to PAIR THE REMOTE or turn the motor on using the ON/OFF switch .
If there is only a single shade on the channel, proceed to SETTING LIMITS .

Select the desired channel with the CHANNEL butt on .
Raise and Lower Shade
Press the UP or DOWN butt ons to raise or lower the shade .
Tapping the UP or DOWN butt ons for less than 2 seconds will move the shade in short steps . Holding the UP or DOWN butt ons down for more than 2 seconds before releasing will operate the shade at the faster standard speed .
Press the STOP butt on to stop the shade at the desired positi on .
Open and Close the Vanes (Sheer Shadings Only)
Select a channel using the CHANNEL butt on . The butt on will scroll through channels in ascending order .
Lower the shading all the way down, using the DOWN butt on .
Tapping the UP or DOWN butt on for less than 2 seconds will move the shade in short steps . This allows precise control of the vane open/close positi on .
Holding the UP or DOWN butt on down for more than 2 seconds before releasing will operate the shade in the faster standard speed .

SETTING & USING A FAVORITE POSITION
If there is only a single shade on the channel proceed to SETTING A FAVORITE POSITION below .
If there is more than one shade on the channel, all shades on that channel will need to be unpaired (see UNPAIR THE REMOTE) or turn the motor off using the ON/OFF switch .
Follow the steps in PAIR THE REMOTE to pair only the shade that needs a favorite positi on set . Then proceed to SETTING A FAVORITE POSITION .
Setti ng a Favorite Positi on Use the UP or DOWN butt ons to positi on the shade at the desired “favorite” positi on . While holding the LIMIT butt on, quickly press and hold the UP butt on . Release both butt ons when the shade jogs & beeps .
When complete, re-pair previously unpaired shades by following the steps to PAIR THE REMOTE or turn the motor on using the ON/OFF switch .
Using a Favorite Positi onWith the shade at either the upper or lower limit, simply press the STOP/FAVORITE butt on to bring the shade to the “favorite” positi on . To go to the “favorite” positi on from any other locati on, make sure the shade has been stopped for at least three seconds before pressing the STOP/FAVORITE butt on .
Changing a Favorite Positi on Use the UP or DOWN butt ons to positi on the shade at the desired “favorite” positi on . While holding the LIMIT butt on, quickly press and hold the UP butt on . Release both butt ons when the shade jogs & beeps .
To erase a “favorite” positi on, bring the shade to the upper limit . Press and hold the LIMIT butt on on the back of the remote, then press and hold the UP butt on . Release both butt ons when the shade jogs & beeps .
When complete, re-pair previously unpaired shades by following the steps to PAIR THE REMOTE .

Use the UP butt on to raise the shade . Press stop when the shade is near the desired upper limit .

Replace Original Remote, Add Additi onal Remote or Add Shade to an Additi onal Channel
1 . Press the SETTING butt on on the motor unti l the shade jogs & beeps once . Release the butt on immediately aft er the fi rst jog & beep - this should not be more than 3 seconds . Repeat this step for all shades that will be controlled by a single channel butt on .
2 . Select the channel that you want to add using the CHANNEL selector butt on .
3 . Press and hold the CONFIRM butt on unti l the shade(s) jogs & beeps .
4 . Repeat steps 1-4 to add the rest of the channels on a multi -channel remote .
Remove a Shade from a Remote or Channel and Pair it to a Diff erent Remote or Channel
1 . Select the channel that you want to unpair .
2 . Press and hold the CONFIRM butt on on the back of the remote . Conti nue to press & release unti l the shade jogs & beeps . The original remote or channels have been unpaired .
3 . Press the SETTING butt on again on the motor unti l the shade jogs & beeps . Release the butt on immediately aft er the fi rst jog & beep - this should not be more than 3 seconds . Repeat this step for all shades that will be controlled by a single channel .
4 . Select the channel that you want to add using the CHANNEL selector butt on .
5 . Press and hold the CONFIRM butt on unti l the shade(s) jogs & beeps .
6 . Repeat steps 3-5 to program the rest of the channels on a multi -channel remote .
UNPAIR THE REMOTE
DISABLING UNUSED CHANNELS
To unpair a shade(s) from a selected channel, press and release the CONFIRM butt on on the back of the remote .
Conti nue to press & release unti l the shade jogs & beeps .
Please note: All shades assigned to the selected channel will be unpaired during this process.
The 14 channel remote has the opti on of turning off unused channels, making channel selecti on easier .
Press and hold both UP and DOWN butt ons for 3 seconds unti l 00 Channel displays . Release the butt ons and the 00 will start to fl ash .
Press the UP or DOWN butt on to select the required number of channels (between 1-14) .
Press and hold the CHANNEL and RAIL selector butt ons at the same ti me to confi rm selecti on . The display will go back to channel 01 .
Follow the same process if you need to re-add channels .
NOTE: 00 will only show the fi rst ti me you disable unused channels . Aft er that, the display will fl ash with the number of acti ve channels set to the remote .

Replacing The Batt ery In The Remote
Remove the batt ery tray from the remote by inserti ng a fi ngernail into the indentati on on the back of the remote . To avoid the batt ery falling out of the remote, remove the tray while the remote is face up .
Insert the new batt ery (CR2430 lithium) into the batt ery tray so that the writi ng is facing up (positi ve up) when the remote is face up . Slide the tray back into the remote .ACCESS

REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE
When the shade begins to operate slower than normal it is ti me to charge the batt ery .
Plug the 8 .4v charger into the port on the motor .
Plug the charger into an electrical outlet . A red light on the charger indicates that the batt ery is charging .
To fully charge the batt eries, allow the batt eries to charge for at least 1 hour aft er the light on the charger turns green . A typical charge cycle can take between 4-6 hours .
Do not leave the charger plugged in for more than 24 hours . This could prematurely age the batt ery .

To De-Acti vate the Jog Functi on
1 . The remote comes pre-set with jogging functi on acti vated . Follow the directi ons below if you would like to de-acti vate it .
2 . Press down and up on the back cover to slide it approximately 1/4 inch .
3 . Carefully remove the back cover of the remote .
4 . Slide the switch from the H positi on to the R positi on .
5 . Replace the back cover of the remote making sure that the rubber piece that goes over the confi rm and limit butt ons stays in place .

INSTALL SOLAR PANEL
Tape Method
Cut the tape to fi t inside the white border as shown . Clean the ends of the solar panel where the tape will go with rubbing alcohol . When dry, remove the release liner from one side of the double sided tape and adhere them to face of the panel .
Make sure to put the tape on the face (black side) of the panel .
Clean the window surface with rubbing alcohol . When dry, remove the release liners and att ach the solar panel to the glass, pressing fi rmly to adhere .
Note: It is important to clean both surfaces with alcohol as debris or oils will compromise the bond .
Double sided tape can be removed from the window surface by using a fl at razor knife . Adhesive residue can be removed by using a liquid adhesive remover .
Bracket Method
If using brackets, set the bott om groove of the unit onto the bott om bracket hook .
Then press the top of the unit unti l it snaps into place .
If space is limited it may be easier to att ach the brackets to the solar unit before screwing the brackets in place .

Determine Solar Panel Placement
The solar panel should be placed where it gets the maximum amount of sunlight per day .
In most cases, this can be achieved by mounti ng the unit directly to the glass with double sided tape .
Brackets are provided if att aching to the glass is not possible .
The brackets may be mounted several diff erent ways depending on the applicati on (window depth, window width, etc .) .
The unit requires 19" minimum window width to mount horizontally .
Inside Mount
Bracket can be mounted behind or next to shade mounti ng bracket .
Inside Mount Extended
Bott om porti on of the bracket may be lowered if needed for more sun exposure .
Bracket can be mounted behind or next to shade mounti ng bracket .
Note: only two of the holes are threaded .
Inside Mount with Top Reversed

Shade will not raise or lower . Recharge motor .

The motor continues to run in one direction .
The limit setting was unsuccessful and needs to be reset .
Channel Display screen on remote does not light up .
Replace the battery in the remote (CR2430) .
The distance required to operate shade with remote becomes shorter .

Shade goes up when down button is pushed and down when up button is pushed .
Press the LIMIT button on the underside of the remote and the STOP button at the same time . Hold until the shade jogs & beeps . The shade should now move in the correct direction .

Unpair the remote from the shade . Then re-pair the remote and reset upper and lower limits .
