Here shows the start of my contents page. I took inspiration from an NME contents page which used various rectangles on their page to make the page look more busy and so that the writing stands out from the background. The white on my contents page stands out from the black background. I have also included my masthead on the contents page as this is a convention of most magazine contents pages. I have included the month and year on my contents page to show that my magazine is issued monthly. I have also included the website for my magazine at the bottom of the page so that readers can subscribe to my magazine and contact the company.

I have now added the full contents to my magazine again inspired by NME. I have used numbers down the side in purple to match my colour scheme and have used purple lines in order to separate the plugs from the page number. I have put the plugs in black so that they stand out from the white background. My first section is called features showing what is unique to my magazine this month for example ‘Adele’s Story’ is a featured article in my magazine this month as well as ’your downloads’. The ‘features’ of my magazine essentially change every month. I then have made a light coloured box which is different to the ‘features’ section of my contents. I have chosen to use golden writing for the plug ‘The Other Side Special’ to show that this is important to my magazine and something the reader should find significant and grab their attention. My next section is ‘Every month’ for those who buy the magazine monthly, maybe have a subscription using typical conventions of a magazine such as ‘Contact us’.

Here I have now added an image to my contents page of my band members in different clothing to show a range of photos. They are both laughing showing that the band is doing well and to target my audience. I have contrasted the image using photo shop in order to make the background look more golden to match my colour scheme. Also in this photo both my models have their hair up which is symbolic of how close the band members are not only in their career but as a friendship. I chose to have the models laughing so that the light-hearted feel of my magazine is reinforced. Again to highlight the different personalities of the band members I have put my model on the left in red lipstick and a white jumper to contrast this. My model on the right I chose to put khaki to show also a fashionable side to my magazine as khaki has been a popular colour this year. I have also added a golden box behind the text which is an exclamatory quote said by Lois, the left model. This statement also gives an insider to what is going to be included later in the magazine: an interview.

Here is my finished contents page in which I have added ‘V Review’ to the bottom of my contents page. I have used a puff ‘The Best Music Guide’ in order to entice an audience and make them want to buy no other magazine. My model I chose to stand in front of a brick wall in order to match the tints of gold in my magazine. I brightened the image in order to make the brick wall appear brighter and my for my model to stand out from the wall more. I also used contrast on the image to make the blonder parts of my model’s hair stand out from her jacket. I chose to have my model/reviewer looking shocked as she is surprised by the amazing music this year. She is wear a blazer to show she is professional and takes reviewing seriously therefore is perfect for the magazine. I chose to have her in grey top to match the colour scheme of my magazine which is reinforced by the grey background of the text next to the model. The plugs for this part of my magazine are in purple and white to stand out from the background and match the colour scheme.
