Step 1First, I opened a blank A4 sized canvas.

Step 2I started out by editing my main image (previously edited by using the “Spot Healing” tool)as I thought that I could immediately start constructing my front cover as soon I have finished editing my main image. I used the Lasso tool, to free select the image so l could get rise of the edges and only take out the main part of the image.

Step 3Next, I used the ‘Feather’ tool to give my image a feathery effect. By doing so, it would give my image a much more professional look and give it a “wow” look which emphasises the headline of my front cover.

Step 3 - ContinuedBy using the ‘Feather’ tool, I did get the effect I required. But to eraser out the edges of the image and any other things in the background of the image such as the grey-ish colour of the backdrop, I used the eraser tool to eraser the unwanted bits by using the fuzzy eraser. The fuzzy eraser didn’t leave any hard edges of the things that remained on the image.

Step 4 (final)After editing my image, I added on the masthead, and sell lines around the edges of the image. My headline was enlarged and used a different font from other sell lines so that it became extremely noticeable. The colours of the sell lines were determined by my colour scheme because I didn’t want to have the sell lines in the same colour.
