For an example of a legacy worth leaving, have a look at the life of Steven R. Covey, author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

Although Covey sold more than 20-million copies of his books and influenced many, including Kings and Presidents, he made a decision early in his life that his greatest contribution and life’s work would be as a teacher.

He also strongly believed that family is both the smallest of organizations and also the most important one. His work and influence live on via FranklinCovey Leadership Training.

Create a Personal Mission Statement

Write a Personal Mission Statement that states:

• Who you want to be,

• What you want to accomplish, and

• The values that will guide you.

A meaningful and fulfilling career choice meshes with your values, talents and what is truly important to you. Think of someone whose work you admire. Are there any elements you can incorporate into your own work?
