Airbags are classified into two categories: lightweight and heavyweight.

LIGHTWEIGHT AIRBAGS- Level 1 air bags are sometimes referred to as LIGHTWEIGHT air bags and are primarily used as lateral void filler in boxcars, trailers and containers. There are additional durable LIGHTWEIGHT air bags without Level 1 verification whose primary use is limited to over-the-road truck application.

HEAVYWEIGHT AIRBAGS- Level 2-5 air bags are referred to as HEAVYWEIGHT air bags and are used as length-wise void filler in boxcars with payload weight ranging from less than 75,000 lbs to as high as 205,000.
