WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?

• Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth.

• In many tissues they serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person is still alive.

Page 3: Stem cell therapies english final

WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?

• When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential either to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell.

WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?

Stem cells have 2 main characteristics:

a) Ability for self-renewal - maintaining their undifferentiated state during several rounds of cell division

b) Potency - ability to differentiate into specialized cell types

Page 5: Stem cell therapies english final

TYPES OF STEM CELLS

There are various types of stem cells including the followings:

Cord Blood Stem Cells:

At birth the blood in the umbilical cord is rich in blood-forming stem cells.

TYPES OF STEM CELLS

There are various types of stem cells including the followings:

Adult Stem Cells or Tissue-specific Stem Cells:• Neural Stem Cells (NSCs) - Stem cells in the nervous system that

can self-renew and give rise to differentiated progenitor cells to generate lineages of neurons as well as glia, such as astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.

• Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) - The blood cells that give rise to all the other blood cells and are derived from mesoderm. They are located in the red bone marrow, which is contained in the core of most bones.

Page 7: Stem cell therapies english final

TYPES OF STEM CELLS

Adult Stem Cells or Tissue-specific Stem Cells:• Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) – Multipotent stromal cells that

can differentiate into a variety of cell types, including osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), and adipocytes (fat cells).

• Epithelial stem cells in the lining of the digestive tract occur in deep crypts and give rise to several cell types: absorptive cells, goblet cells, paneth cells, and enteroendocrine cells.

• Skin stem cells occur in the basal layer of the epidermis and at the base of hair follicles. The epidermal stem cells give rise to keratinocytes, which migrate to the surface of the skin and form a protective layer. The follicular stem cells can give rise to both the hair follicle and to the epidermis.

OUR STEM CELL TREATMENT PROCESS

Step 1: Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Collection

- Collect stem cell from the blood stream

- Sources of blood: Umbilical cord blood, Adult blood from healthy people, or yourself

Page 11: Stem cell therapies english final

OUR STEM CELL TREATMENT PROCESS

Step 2: Cell Separator

- Separates blood in to its various parts: white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets and the fluid part of your blood – plasma. Your stem cells are within the white blood cell layer of your blood and the machine allows us to collect the stem cells

Page 12: Stem cell therapies english final

OUR STEM CELL TREATMENT PROCESS

Step 3: Stem Cell Cultivation (Activation)

- On completion of the procedure the stem cells are transported to the laboratory for processing, activating and storage until needed

- The process of stem cell activation takes around 5-7 days

- Can cultivate a specific type of stem cell to treat a specific disease

Step 4: Stem Cell Cultivation (Replication)

- The extracted stem cells will be placed in a controlled culture that prohibits them from further specializing or differentiating but usually allows them to divide and replicate

- The process of growing stem cell has 3 stages, each stage takes around 2 to 3 days

- The number of stem cells can reach 35 billion

Page 13: Stem cell therapies english final

OUR STEM CELL TREATMENT PROCESS

Step 5: Transplanting the activated stem cells

- The cultivated stem cells will be injected into the vein of the arm

- Activated stem cells will reach the areas in need through blood circulation in our bodies

- Generally, the results can be shown in 2-3 months after the therapy

Step 6: Post Treatment Care

- Our professional medical team will follow up closely to check the potency of the treatments

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Cerebral Palsy

The mechanism of Neural stem cells transplantation in treating cerebral palsy is done through:

1. Able to renew and repair cells, replace the damaged cells and rebuild neural circuits.

2. Secreted nerve growth factor which lead to activate the damaged nerve cells.

3. Repair the damaged marrow, keep the completion of nerve fibers, and restoring the normal connection.

- Generally patients with mild cerebral palsy, after one treatment course will be able to see

some satisfactory results, which improvement can be obvious.

- More severe cerebral palsy patients will need 2-3 treatment course, then only will see the

same significant improvement.

- One treatment course usually for a month (depending on patient condition). During

hospitalization for the treatment course, patient will receive 4 times of the neural stem cell

transplantation.

- Transplantation procedure includes: intravenous injection, spinal injection transplantation,

intervention therapy method that directly transplant the arterial or tissue lesion.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Parkinson’s Disease• Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic and degenerative disorder of the central

nervous system. The motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease result from the

death of dopamine-generating cells in the substantia nigra, a region of the

midbrain.

• Symptoms are movement-related include shaking, rigidity, slowness of

movement and difficulty with walking and gait.

• At present, treatment is towards medication of levodopa and dopamine

agonists or deep brain stimulation surgery (DBS). However, both treatment still

unable to cure or slow the disease progression.

• Neural stem cells have virtually unlimited capacity and stability in proliferation

capability and differentiate into dopaminergic neurons which make it an

important of transplantation for neurodegenerative disease.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Parkinson’s DiseaseMr. Huang, male, 80 years old, Indonesian Chinese. More than 10 yrs suffering from PD. Seek for

treatment in many hospitals in the UK, USA, Japan and local Indonesia hospitals with poor results.

Recently years has difficulty in walking especially staircase, on wheelchair, poor sleeping quality and

memory loss. His children brought him to Guangzhou Nanyang for biological stem cell treatment.

After 2 treatment course, he could get out from his wheelchair, up and down the staircase by himself.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Multiple Sclerosis• Chen XX, female, 49 years old, a kindergarten teacher in a university, an amateur dancer. In 1995

years, was diagnosed with "multiple sclerosis“. Had symptoms such as numbness & weakness

limbs; paresthesia at breast, waist and abdomen, has belted sense and blurred eyes vision.

Repeated hospitalization for treatment, yet often recurrent, average once a year. Consequences

from repeated hormone therapy, she had significant side effects such as weight gained and bloated

face, yet relapse still uncontrollable. Work and daily life serious affected that she has to quit dancing.

After stem cells therapy 2 yrs ago, side effects from the hormone therapy was completely subsided,

her body figure back to normal, able to continue dancing and lead a normal life. No recurrence

within two yrs.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Diabetes Induced Physical WeaknessYang XX, female, 58 years old, retiree. More than 10 years suffering from type II diabetes, controlled by

drugs. However, her body function was weaken that resulting in drowsiness and fatigue. Tiredness and

restless felt after only walked up three floors, dizziness after exercises as well. Frequent nocturia (4-6

times) which affected her sleeping, and the circle continue that her physical condition became weaken

and deteriorated. But after stem cells treatment, all symptoms improved which nocturia had reduced

significantly (1-2 times), able to sleep well, can walked up to 3rd floor without breathless, weaken legs.

Her physical condition was strengthen with refreshed mind.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• Stem Cells Therapy For Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

Mr. Cai, male, aged 18 years old. Suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) for 5 years with lupus brain,

lupus nephritis with bilateral pleural effusions, systemic body edema, coughing, expectoration, vomiting etc. Seek for

multiple treatment yet results were ineffective. Had severe anemia which needed blood transfusion one a week to

sustain life. Some doctors lost confidence to treat and suggested family members to give up treatment.

With despair and last hope, they went to Guangzhou Nanyang Tumour Hospital to try out biological stem cells

treatment. After 1st treatment course, his condition and symptoms liked coughing, expectoration, vomiting has

significantly improved. Swelling disappeared and bilateral pleural effusion disappeared. After 2nd treatment course,

laboratory tests confirmed that apart from proteinuria did not change before and after treatment, other parameters have

returned to normal. Mr. Cai has back to school after 3 years of absence from study.

OUR STEM CELL THERAPIES• How to ensure the effect of stem cell therapy1. Sufficient number of cells

Using Japan’s culture techniques, the number of cultured cells up to 35 billion with cells culture success rate 99.5%. For DC / CIK Stem Cells treatment for anti-cancer, one treatment course containing more than 20 billion aggressive cells and 200 million regenerative cells which is far more than the number of cells culture by other stem cells centers. As we all know, the greater number of stem cells culture will produce better results.

2. Given methods or infusion pathway

Targeted intervention through arterial infusion, intravenous infusion, abdominal cavity infusion, intraspinal infusion. To ensure that the desired stem cells reached the affected organs directly for high efficiency result.

3. Multi-disciplinary method with numerous clinical experiences

Multidisciplinary individualized treatment to ensure the efficacy.
