STEAM Challenge Social Justice Mixer Friday, November 15 | 1-3:30 PM Student Center - Lower Level Stage The purpose of the Social Justice Mixer is to help STEAM Challenge student participants better understand the context of real-world problems and to apply a social justice lens to the challenges they seek to address through entrepreneurship. Subject matter experts will provide a brief and compelling overview of this year’s Challenge themes. Student participants will then be able to set the agenda for the rest of the event by discussing the challenges they want to address and connecting with other students across disciplines who might frame the challenges or have experience with the problems. At the end of the mixer, we will conduct a debrief and connect student participants with additional resources. Visit steamchallenge.wayne.edu or send us an email at [email protected]. The WSU STEAM Challenge brings interdisciplinary student teams together to pitch ideas that solve real problems in Detroit and beyond. Teams will identify a real-world problem or issue and suggest an idea for a project-based solution that uses an interdisciplinary approach. This year’s theme is Innovating Change and Developing Solutions towards a Just Society. Do you have a passion for making positive change?
