Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) Assignment Statistics show that most students don't understand STDs or how to prevent their spread. To help address this, you will research and produce a brochure about STDs which should be informative and interesting. Your target readers are other teenagers . Each student should work on a single letter size brochure (double sided). You should be creative in developing the brochures and use computer graphics programs to make them. The brochures should be brief and easy to read but also informational. They should cover: 1. An introduction/attention grabber to STDs for the teenage audience 2. A brief description of the 4 most common STDs ?(This must include Chlamydia, Herpes, HPV(genital warts), HIV, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Pubic lice or Trichomoniasis) 3. What are the signs and symptoms of each STD? 4. How is each STD treated? (Is it curable?) 5. What are the long term health problems if left untreated for each STD? 6. How is each of them transmitted 7. Give a detailed list of prevention tips? (At least eight) 8. Interesting facts, statistics, or use of charts etc.. You will be given 3 Wellness periods to research and create your brochure. After the brochures are complete, each student will present the finished product to the class. We might consider printing extra copies of the best brochures to distribute to other classes in the school.
