ENGLISH PROJECT (2013-14) STD 7 MY WORLD IN 2014 New Year’s Eve has always been a time for looking back at the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. We all have hopes and expectations. Being a better person, studying harder and spending more time with family members are definitely top priorities. Here are the few areas you can bring about changes in . 1. Myself: What change would you like to bring about in yourself as far as physical well being is concerned? Be fitter, stronger and run faster, eat healthy food; ie, avoiding all the junk you eat, take better care of yourself.....beat your own personal records maybe in some sport. What are the academic goals that you set for yourself? Study harder, be structured and focussed on your work, identify your areas of improvement and work on them . How would you foster the positive and humane personality within you? Do what makes you happy, take risks, smile more often, do some good deeds, bring a smile on others’ faces and live life! 2. Family: How would you want to make your family members happy? Your initiative to improve relationships, doing what makes parents happy, spending quality time with family, you may include grandparents, siblings, relatives, etc What will you do to make your family bonds stronger? A social gathering, helping in the kitchen or reading a book, plan an outing, go shopping or simply watch a movie together. 3. Friends: What are the things you would advise your friends to do so as to become better human beings? Your suggestions, change some bad habits, mannerisms, conduct. Note Acknowledgement Content Make a project booklet of 6-8 pages.

LAWS MATTER!

Formulating suitable laws are an important process in a democracy; one that sets the tone for public discussion and lays out intent and promise; it is the very basis for the many other freedoms that a democratic society enjoys. Common people are vehemently opposing some laws; laws are enhancing dissatisfaction in the society and it is leading to disparity as well. Law is a tool of social engineering. We all have the power to make the changes that we want to see......!!!

Make your own laws….. (2 to 3 laws for each issue)

• Strict laws to deal with crimes against women

• Laws related to juveniles

• Laws for children who use internet/social sites

• Improved food safety laws to protect consumers

• Which form of government would you like to replace Democracy with? Why?

• Any other areas where you feel the need to change laws

GUIDELINES:

• Cover page

• Acknowledgement

• Index

• Introduction and write up on the right side (7 to 8 pages)
