ReVision Energy: Best Place to Work The best thing about the job is the flexibility. Everyone at ReVision has so much experience, and is so passionate about what we are accomplishing that job responsibilities are fluid, as everyone is ready (and able) to help anyone. When someone is out, say having a baby, the office easily shifts responsibilities so we can continue operations. Every question is treated as a learning opportunity because every lesson is an investment in you and our company allowing them help fill in when you are out volunteering or at a class. Every hire comes in with some outside passion which adds to our great scope of knowledge. A trained arborist focuses on coordinating recycling efforts. An organic farmer who can guide a misinformed buyer towards the best food/product without contradicting the buyer’s beliefs (GMOs/solar). A public defender motivates installers to be the best they can be. On the business side we have people who have had experience with fuel cells, wind turbines, and anaerobic digesting power plants, and they have all found solar to be the optimal solution. The solar industry has just hit its inflection point, and it is extremely excited to be in midst of the constantly changing landscape. The technology, the policy, and the players are accelerating at a breakneck pace. Working for ReVision has not only refined my understanding of solar energy and grid integration but also my career path. From installer to permit technician to site visits to marketing to solar designing I have been able to sample all my strengths and identify my areas for refinement. The partners and distributed leadership constant seek for more outlets for us better ourselves and with clear communication and transparency I see ReVision’s path forward to continue growth in energy management on the full net positive house and even net positive micro grid scale lowering prices and increasing energy quality for citizens, companies and even utilities. Because of the constant efforts to be a shining example for the community there is very little room for improvement that we can improve on. While our leased property has energy is renewable sourced we are looking to build a net positive establishment that generates energy, clean earth, clean air and clean water. We already compost but we could have a bio-gas collector. We have NASA recommended air filtering plants and are working on building a rain garden. Our trucks run on bio-diesel, but we could convert our high efficiency gasoline fleet to all electric. The best part about ReVision isn’t what you would think. It isn’t the annual rafting trip and camping weekend with drinks around the fire or solstice socials. It isn’t coming in to see the wagging tails of all the office dogs. It wasn’t even the satisfaction of turning on my own solar system. It is knowing that every day, with every panel we install a power plant is dialing its production back and the air is clearing. A family is achieving energy independence, and is now able to spend money on going out to eat and investing in the local community instead of on their utility bills that send money overseas. It is knowing another customer excitedly spreads the word about how they are accomplishing energy independence. We are not the only ones who do what we do, but we are a 13 year strong ember at the heart of the fire that is creating a world that doesn’t need saving.
