TASK FORCE ON LONG-TERM CARE
STAY HEALTHY. SAFER AT HOME
• Earlier this week the governor established the Task Force On Long-Term Care. The task force will:
• Develop recommendations and metrics on how and when visitation within long-term care facilities can be safely resumed
• Identify what steps facilities can take before then to help residents and their loved ones maintain contact.
• The task force consists of family members of long-term care facility residents, long-term care facility operators, ADHS, AARP, and members of the governor’s office and the legislature.
• There are currently 375 test collection sites across the state. You can view a list of locations here: azhealth.gov/covid19testing
• We continue working to build lab capacity throughout the state. • SonoraQuest continues to see delays in testing results.
• Their testing backlog is currently at 29,000 • They estimate they will be fully caught up on Sunday, August 2 • Still on track for capacity for 60,000 PCR/day by August 31.

TESTING UPDATES
TESTING INITIATIVES
STAY HEALTHY. SAFER AT HOME
Convalescent Plasma • Convalescent plasma is a treatment that some doctors are using for people with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
• People who've recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies to the disease in their blood.
• Their blood can be collected and the plasma, containing the antibodies can be given to people with severe COVID-19 to boost their ability to fight the virus.
• If you've had COVID-19 and recovered from it, consider donating blood.
SURGE LINE TRANSPORT FUND
STAY HEALTHY. SAFER AT HOME
• Part of our Past Acute Care Capacity Initiative: $1 million • Reimburse hospital systems not eligible for public assistance to cover their
costs in providing a patient transport home or to another facility • Open up beds in our hospitals and gets patients home • Patients whose transport is eligible for reimbursement:
• COVID-19 presumed or confirmed • Medicare only (FFS) or uninsured • Transport cost must be more than $100, maximum reimbursement is up
to $700/transfer • Sending hospital has already tried all PACCT-listed vendors

MOVING FORWARD OUR PLAN OF ACTION
THE PLAN AHEAD
• We’re going to continue taking a responsible approach, guided by public health
• Continue ramping up testing in Arizona to identify infections • Increasing Lab Capacity • Additional Collection Sites
• Continue relief to county health officials in contact tracing to contain the spread
• Monitor the efficacy of our mitigation strategies
STAY HEALTHY. SAFER AT HOME
METRICS TO WATCH
• Cases • Testing & Percent Positivity Rate
• At the state and county level • Indicates the rate of spread and broad testing availability
• Mobility & Rt • Arizonans are safer at home — this metric quantifies non-essential
travel • Rt indicates the rate of spread
• Capacity • Monitoring our ability to care for Arizonans
