like pattern 36, but turning leaves into branches. An all-overlace pattern which at frst I thought it looked like minifountains but now I can only see masked faces, like theSutton Hoo helmet or Darth Vader. The cable pattern is avertical panel of two cables on top of each other where theunderneath cable is plain and the top one is in single mossstitch. Finally an ever favourite slip stitch pattern creatinghorizontal bands of beads.

Difculty: moderate

Pattern complexity: moderate

Techniques used:• lace• cables with knits & purls• slip stitches

Material: 20-21m/ 22-23 yards DK (11wpi) yarnfor each square.

Needles: 4.0mm (US 6)

Accessories:• cable needle

• if required: row counter, stitch counters

Gauge: 19st x 27r = 10x10cm (4”x4”) in stockinette, blocked.
