Stay Connected

Page 2: Stay Connected

As I started to set up ,my project , I started to feel something strange in my stomach . It wasn’t just the obvious nerves that I looked like an idiot taping can’s to a chair so they wouldn’t fall off. But knowing that a stranger was about to walk past and contemplate and think about my concept was startling . I wasn’t just worried about my spelling anymore , but the whole project seemed to take on a different meaning once a stranger put their own ideas on top of mine .

But as more, and more and more people started to stop and stare and stay and read I realised this was a subject that people wanted to learn and talk about..

Page 4: Stay Connected

And talk they did, about their own experiences in the countries they come from , all the way to their interpretation and opinion of my project .I was extremely touched when I was approached(by the people on the L) because they wanted to tell me how by the amount of people that had walked in to it were the exact people I was talking about , for they were not connected to what was going on around them.

Page 5: Stay Connected

The amount of people that continued to walk into and onto my art piece was truly astounding and the more I watched the angrier I got . These people continued to walk into my project and some would not even stop to see what it is that they had crashed through.

And it was not until this was pointed out to me by a stranger no less that I truly understood the meaning of what I had started out to try and prove and in the end it was proved to me by the individuals themselves. Our generation are so connected tat we have become disconnected to what is right in front of our eyes.

Now this was partially planned , in the sense that I did set up in that specific area so that anyone on campus in that area would be forced to look at it so they would not walk through it .But as we mentioned before the concept of people being aware of their surroundings did not pan over exactly how I thought it would. However it added to my project , when someone did walk through it .

I am extremely glad that people took the opportunity that I presented them to use, contemplate and make their own decision in regard to my art project.

And I hope that what they learnt , and discovered they go on to tell so that there is a constant cycle of new people being passed on this information that they in return pass on as well.

So there will always be someone who wants to learn this and pass it on .

The world isn’t big enough to not know what is going on in it. We are all a part of this world, it doesn't matter where we come from or if it is our country or not we should be constantly trying to make the world a better place. But now it is up to you unknown reader. Please look at what I have created, read what is taking place in our world right now but don’t forget, pass it on talk about it try and make a difference to someone, somewhere ,somehow.Don’t forget about these facts once you have left the child’s old walkie-talkie behind. Truly stop and think .For it is your world too.
