Information Technology Park Nepal (IT Park)
v Government of Nepal has established IT Park in Panauti, Kavre to promote and enhance IT industries for employment generation and economic growth.
v “IT Park management and operation directive” has recently been approved by the GON and accordingly the necessary actions have been taken by DOIT for the effective implementation.

v Telecom Policy 2004
üEmphasis on affordable access to telecommunication services to all the Nepalese people.
üProvides for universal access to telecommunications services through the shared telephone, through fixed line and mobile phones and by making ICT services available through community centers.
üMandates that a telecom service provider must provide service to a consumer in an urban area upon ordering and provide appropriate ICTs as per the capacity and need of the rural areas.
ü Provides for the deployment of appropriate ICTs for development and property alleviation.

vNepal e-Government Interoperability Framework (NeGIF)
ü The Department Of Information Technology (DoIT) in Nepal initiated the development and implementation of ICT standards and a Nepale-Government Interoperability framework (NeGIF).
ü The aim was to build an environment where government systems will interact seamlessly in an integrated manner irrespectivethe underlying technology, vendor, software or application being used.
ü The framework promotes the use of open source technology and open standards to ensure transparency and competitiveness.
