Meeting.
• Fall of 2010: ITU-T JCA-NID unofficial ad-hoc meetings of experts.
• Nov 24-26, 2010: The last CJK NID/USN meeting in Tokyo. • Nov 29-Dec 4, 2010: ITU-T SG16 WP2 Rapporteur meeting.
– On Nov 29th afternoon, the ad-hoc meeting of experts organized by ITU-T JCA-NID recommended that the proposals from ITU-T SG16 (H.IDscheme) and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 31/WG 6 (MII) be merged.
– So the merged idea was discussed there with ITU-T SG16 editors and ISO Project editor and draft was created and submitted to SG16 and brought back to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6.
– Basically, H.IRP | 29177 was agreed upon to be common standard without much difficulty.
• March 14-25, 2011: ITU-T SG16 Q21,Q22– The final (very little edited) ToR for Collaborative team work was
approved, and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6 was asked to approve that.• April 19, 20: ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6 meeting in Stockholm.
– ToR was approved and the SC31 was asked to approve it.• May 9-13, 2011: The last Q21/Q22 session at GSI-IoT meeting
in Geneva– H.ID-RA | 29174-2 being discussed.– COMMON format documents were tentatively proposed for trial
(after a straw poll) for H.IDScheme | 29174-1 and H.ID-RA | 29174-2 and so were created and sent from ITU-T SG16 to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6.
– Again, H.IRP | 29177 had not much difficulty.
• May 22: ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31 plenary in Vienna– ToR was finally approved. It is official.– This meeting raised “scope issues” within ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 31. WG6
has a rather narrow scope and cannot create standard that “identify” physical objects. An ad-hoc meeting was proposed to resolve this issue and to create a recommendation.
• June 20: ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6 29174-1 and 29174-2 DoC Meeting– The scope issues and a few issues were raised. The scope issues
needed to wait for the ad-hoc meeting report (by July 11th, the continuation meeting.)
• June 21: ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31/WG6 29177 (H.IRP)– Again, this document sailed smoothly.
• June 26, 30, July 5 : Ad-hoc committee organized by chair of SC31– The scope issues are caused due to the division of target areas assumed by
WGs of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31.– ITU-T finds it difficult to handle this division of area because it affects the
wording, definition and other aspects of the draft Recommendation and International Standard in a somewhat contorted manner.
– The chair is expected to submit a summary to SC31 and to WG6.– WG6 Project Editor of 29174-1 and 29174-2 can decide how to cope with the
suggestion.• July 11th: Continuation of June 20’s 29174-1 and 29174-2 DoC
Meeting.– CJK participants (on ITU-SG16 WP2) will find out how the SC31 ad-hoc affects
the draft of 29174-1.
